Chapter : 913
“I don’t understand,” I said, shaking my head. “How are you in my bedroom?”
“Your mind conjured up your childhood bedroom because it’s where you always felt safe,” she explained, a light chuckle in her voice.
I stared down at my body with a frown.
“So, I’m not really here?” I asked.
She nodded.
“Right,” she replied. “You are asleep at Eliza’s clinic… safe and sound. As is your baby and your mate.”
Relief flooded me, and I felt like I needed to sit down. I ended up falling backward onto the bed, not realizing how close I actually was.
The Goddess strolled further into my room until she was near my bed as well. Her eyes were soft, and her expression serene.
“You are one of my most special children, Judy,” the Goddess told me. “The Host of magic is a great honor. I’m sure you realize by now the connection you have with your magic.”
I stared down at my hands, flexing my fingers as if I expected them to do something spectacular.
“It listens to me,” I said, almost more to myself. “I was told magic has a mind of its own and that I need to train it properly. But it does as it asks.”
“It’s because it recognizes you as the host. For it to be unlocked, you have to earn its trust and respect, and you’ve already done that. Now all you must do is strengthen your relationship with it.”
“How do I do that?” I asked.
“Continue to use it; put your trust in your magic, and it will put it’s trust in you,” she replied. “I am only here to reassure you that there is nothing more you need to do. You are a powerful she-wolf and future Luna, and those who doubt you will soon learn that you are the right one to lead them.”
“You have a lot of faith in me,” I told her, letting out a breathy laugh.
Her smile grew softer, and her eyes sparkled as she reached out to me. I oversaw her hand, and when she placed it on my shoulder, warmth spread through me.
“You should have faith in yourself, Judy Montague. Just as your family and friends
do… just as your magic does… and just like your son does.”
“My son…” I whispered, placing my hand on my flat belly. She nodded.
“You have a gorgeous baby boy who will need his mother to be strong. You say you don’t have Luna training, but you couldn’t be more wrong I have been watching you since you were born, and you have more than enough experience. You had been training your whole life for this moment. There is no better Luna, and one day soon, you will see that for yourself. You have my word. But until then, you must put faith in the abilities that you have.”
Tears blurred my vision before I could stop them.
“I’m scared,” I admitted. “I’m scared that I won’t be enough.”
I realized that was why I was here… the Goddess hadn’t summoned me here… I
summoned her. I needed her reassurance and her guidance.
“Oh, my darling,” the Goddess said softly, her presence alluring.
She moved so quickly that if I had blinked, I would have missed it. She sat beside me, at the same time, wiping a stray tear off my cheek with her finger.
“You are more than enough,” she assured me. “You would move heaven and earth for those you care about, and I’ve seen you thrive on so many occasions. You are strong, Judy Montague.”
I smiled through my tears.
“Thank you,” I whispered. “I shouldn’t stay here. I need to get back to my family. Is my baby healthy?”
“He’s more than healthy… he’s
strong, and his future is bright. You’ve done well with this
pregnancy. But you are right; younet
need to get back Your mate is worried for you, and he won’t be able to think of anything else until you wake up. Take the time you need to rest; your body still needs to heal.”
She stands and motions for the bed. Without thought, I slid back under the covers and nuzzled myself into the comfort of my childhood bed taking in the familiar scents and
comfort of my room.
I felt the Moon Goddess lifting off my bed as she strolled towards my bed.
“It’s been a pleasure to speak with you, Judy Montague, Host of Magic. Remember,
I am never too far from you.”
And then, she was gone.
With that… I allowed myself to sleep.
