Chapter : 934
My cheeks were burning, but my wolf was urging me to go with him because, as much as I was his… he was also mine.
“Well, I guess this is as far as we go,” my father said, turning to look at me. “I’m so proud of you, Judy. Both your mother and I are. Even if you aren’t our biological child… You will always be our little girl.”
He cupped my face with his warm hand and kissed my forehead. I closed my eyes, basking in the warmth and familiar comfort of my father. No matter what, he was still my father, and I adored him.
“You’ll always be my dad, no matter what,” I assured him. “Nobody could ever replace you.”
He smiled, tears glistening in his eyes. He pulled back and nodded for Zachary, and as soon as I turned to him, Zachary wrapped his arms around me.
“I know I haven’t been in your life… but just know… ” You are still my daughter, and I’ll do whatever I can to keep you safe and protected,” Zachary assured me. “You are a Blackwell now… which means you have the protection of the Blackwells until the end of time. If you ever need anything, you come to me, understood?”
I let out a choked laugh and nodded.
“Yes, thank you,” I told him. “From the bottom of my heart.”
He smiled and then nudged my arm with his.
“Now, go get married,” he said, and then he turned towards Gavin, narrowing his eyes and pointing his finger at Gavin’s face. “If you ever hurt her… I will hunt you, Landry. Don’t think just because we are business partners that I won’t retaliate.”
Gavin smirked as he pulled me into his arms, his own arms wrapping around me like a vice, like he never wanted to let me go.
“I’ll never hurt her,” Gavin assured him. “You have my word on that. I’m not letting Judy go, no matter what happens. She’s mine.”
Zachary smiled and seemed to have relaxed.
“Good,” he said, stepping back. “That’s what I like to hear.”
I let out a laugh.
“Go on,” my father said, motioning me forward. “It’s time for you to get married.”
Gavin guided me towards the aisle, his arm firmly around my waist. The priest stood
in the front with our wedding party, and everyone was smiling.
Tnet
As we stood before our family and friends, the priest spoke words of prayer and love, and my heart felt like it was expanding with every word Gavin’s eyes never left mine, and felt like the most precious” thing in the world to him in this moment.
My heart was no longer beating as quickly as it had… it was a steady beat, matching the rhythm of his, and I felt a sense of calm. Like this was what I was supposed to be doing… that everything led up to this moment.
My wolf was content, and I was happy.
This was actually happening. I was marrying my best friend.
The priest told us that we can say our vows, and Gavin went first. He talked about the first moments that he saw me… how he knew that was going to wreck his world before he even hired me to tutor his son. It made most people who knew me laugh.
He spoke of falling in love with me, of knowing would be the mother of his future children, the one he could never let go. I found myself leaning not toward him, desperate for his closeness at that moment, and knew from the smile that tugged at his lips that he knew exactly what I was thinking.
When it was my turn, I took a deep breath and looked into his eyes.
“Gavin…” I started to say, but then I heard some gasps and whispers, bringing my attention away from Gavin and towards the audience. They were no longer looking at me, but behind them, back at the pack church.
It took me a moment to realize what I was looking at, and once I did, my heart stopped in my chest.
“What is she doing here?” Gavin asked, his voice harsh as he spoke to his beta.
“I don’t know,” Taylor said, his eyes narrowing. “Should we call the guards to collect her?”
Gavin was about to answer, but I decided that I wanted to know why she was here, so I turned to her and asked her in front of everybody.
“What are you doing here, Daisy?”
