Chapter 383
They could die, but Charlotte couldn’t.
N Organization needed her to hold the fort. The research institute was waiting for her to bring in the money. She didn’t have a choice.

“That’s enough.” Her eyes lowered, face hidden behind her mask and cap, but her voice was ice cold. “If I could run, do you really think I’d still be sitting here?”
If escaping was possible, she would have been gone already.
Adonis didn’t know what to say. Honestly, with Charlotte’s skills, she could have gotten out of here alone. She was staying for him and Jackson.
The car sped forward, just a hundred meters from the cliff’s edge. Mist swirled in the valley below. Charlotte gripped the steering wheel so tightly her fingers turned pale.
Dying wasn’t an option. But fighting to survive? That was on the table.
She sat in silence for a few seconds, then crossed her hands on the wheel and slowly pressed her foot to the accelerator.
Reaper Division didn’t see it coming. One second the SUV was driving straight, the next it spun around and aimed right for the luxury sports car behind them.

Adonis’s eyes went wide. As it hit him, a wave of awe for Charlotte rushed in. Their SUV was leaking fuel. If the two cars collided, they’d explode for sure. If God wanted to live, he’d have to move out of the way.
Behind that expensive car was a winding mountain road. If they could just make it onto that stretch, they’d have a shot at getting away.
Charlotte was fearless. She was playing chicken with God himself. But both of them were reckless. Adonis couldn’t guess who would back down first.
“Anthony, look out!” Hans shouted, panic in his eyes as the SUV came barreling toward them. His heart thudded in his chest.
Were they really trying to take Anthony down with them because they couldn’t escape?
Anthony didn’t say a word. As the SUV got close, he raised his gun and took aim at the driver.
This was his first time seeing the face of the mysterious person who had beaten him three times.
He couldn’t see the whole face, but those eyes—dark and bright, deep as midnight -looked so much like… Lottie’s. It was her.
The same girl who promised she’d stay in school and behave, now right in front of him, caught in a deadly standoff.
Anthony’s eyes narrowed. He immediately dropped his gun, voice low and sharp. “Let her through!”
Hans and the driver froze, jerking the wheel as soon as Anthony barked the order.
Meanwhile, Charlotte was locked on Anthony’s face through the windshield. Only one person in the world looked like that.
Anthony? God?
Her mind went blank. There was no time to figure it out. When the other car gave way, she slammed the brakes-nothing happened. The car wouldn’t stop.
Charlotte scowled, glanced at Jackson and Adonis, and didn’t hesitate. “Jump!”
They were surrounded by X Organization. Jumping was as good as suicide.
“Don’t argue. Jump, now!”
She grabbed Jackson and Adonis, pulling them from the car just as it smashed into the guardrail.
The crash exploded behind them, followed by the roar of gunfire.
“Stop! Don’t shoot!” Anthony kicked open his door and dove out, throwing himself over Charlotte as she hit the ground, shielding her with his body.
“Oh my god!” Hans nearly lost it when he saw Charlotte’s face. How could it be her?
“Don’t don’t shoot,” Hans stammered. “If you hurt her, Anthony will kill you.”
Reaper Division just stared, completely confused.
Anthony wrapped Charlotte up, one hand behind her head, the other around her waist, rolling with her
until they finally stopped Sheended up on top of him.
After the world finally settled, Charlotte opened her eyes and found herself face to
face with Anthony, his expression cold and furious.
Everything went still.
