Chapter 650

At the White Whale Training Base, a black Hummer rolled through security without any issues and slowed to a stop right in front of the command building.
The doors swung open. Three people got out, two guys and a woman. The woman walked ahead, her black trench coat fitting perfectly over matching pants that showed off her long legs. She had this energy about her, something almost intimidating, and everyone around felt it.
People couldn’t help but wonder. Which one of them was Reaver?
“Please, come in.” Saul opened the door, stiff and silent, and watched as the three
of them walked into the conference room. As soon as they disappeared inside, he picked up the phone and called Donald.
“Donald, Reaver’s here.”
Five minutes later, Donald showed up from the training grounds. Just as he was about to head in, Saul called out, “Donald, there’s a woman inside.”
Donald frowned. Did Reaver really bring a woman to the base? He nodded and didn’t think much of it, then headed inside.
In the office, two men sat on the sofa, looking around, clearly interested in the place. The woman Saul mentioned was sitting on the edge of Donald’s desk, her back to the door. She had her long legs crossed and was swinging them slowly, toying with a model handgun.
The second Donald walked in, Jackson and Adonis both looked up.
Donald stood there in full camouflage, tall and sharp, with this natural air of authority and justice. He looked every bit the elite soldier.
Donald had never seen Reaver’s face, but he remembered the guy’s build, and it didn’t match either of the men in the room. He glanced at the woman on his desk, and something in his eyes shifted.
“You two can leave. I’ll talk to Donald myself,” the woman said, her voice low and a little rough.
“Yes, sir.” Jackson and Adonis nodded. They glanced at Donald, who looked totally lost, and tried not to laugh as they said, “Donald, that’s Reaver.”
Donald’s eyebrows shot up. He let out a cold, doubtful laugh and said, “You’re joking, right?”
Reaver was supposed to be a man. He’d worked with him before, hadn’t he? There was no way he’d mix up a man and a woman.
Adonis closed his eyes and sighed, sounding almost sorry for Donald. “If you don’t believe it, you can always fight her. See if you win.”
Most of his best moves had actually been taught to him by Charlotte two years ago. If it came down to a real fight he wasn’t even sure he’d last. three rounds.
Adonis gave Jackson a little nod and grinned. “Come on, let’s give Donald some space.”
Give him some space? Donald watched them leave, his frown deepening. He hated not having control. He looked toward the
woman still sitting on his desk and asked, voice icy Where’s thereal Reaver?”
She didn’t turn around. Instead, she spoke calmly. “Remember that training two years ago? I kicked you into a river, and you almost
drowned Who would have guessed the famous top-tier soldier was actually scared of water?”
Donald’s jaw dropped. His face changed color. Only Reaver knew about his fear of water, and that had been a total accident.
He stared, like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. “You… you were pretending to be a man?”
The legendary Reaver was actually a woman. If anyone found out, the whole special forces world would lose their minds.
Charlotte just put down the vase she’d been holding and grabbed a snack from the desk, as if this kind of reveal happened every day.
