Chapter 533
Anthony was so ridiculously good-looking, it almost felt unfair. There was something about him that was just magnetic.
Charlotte wasn’t the type to hold herself back. As soon as the thought popped into her head, she leaned in without a second thought.
Anthony hadn’t seen it coming. Right when he was about to take things further, Charlotte suddenly went still.
He glanced down and realized her eyes were shut tight.
She was asleep.
Well, that was that.
It felt like someone had dumped a bucket of ice water over his head, killing any excitement in an instant. Anthony ran his hand gently through her hair, letting out a soft, helpless laugh.
The next morning, Charlotte woke up feeling refreshed and full of energy.
After getting ready, she headed to the living room and spotted Anthony. He was dressed in a sharp suit, sitting at the dining table, peeling an egg with the kind of elegance you only ever see in movies.
“Come have some breakfast,” he said when he noticed her. He handed her the egg and poured her a glass of milk, his voice gentle. “Eat up. I’ll drive you over when you’re done.”
“Okay.” Charlotte picked up her milk and took slow, lazy sips, looking completely relaxed. Coincidentally, Stella had also mentioned she wanted to meet Anthony.
After breakfast, Helen brought down a suitcase and handed it to Hans. “Charlotte, I’ve packed everything you’ll need for the next three days,” she said with a warm smile.
“If you need anything else, I’ll bring it to you,” Anthony added, slipping her coat over her shoulders and taking her hand.
“Thanks.”
“Good luck on your exams, Charlotte,” Helen said.
“Thank you, Helen.” Charlotte smiled and followed Anthony out the door.
Helen watched the two of them leave, her heart full of emotion. Once Charlotte finishedther exams and was no longer a high school student, maybe Anthony wouldn’t fee so guilty anymore.
The next day, herves were running high. Unlike Charlotte, Shirley and the others were so anxious they couldn’t even bring themselves to turn on their phones. Andrew had locked himself away at home. obsessively going over his notes.
Anthony’s sports car pulled up outside the complex. He walked ahead with Charlotte
by his side, while Hans followed behind, rolling the suitcase.
A few minutes later, they reached the villa. Jackson and Adonis were already waiting out front. As soon as they saw them, they greeted, “Charlotte. Anthony.”
“Where’s Stella?” Charlotte asked in a low voice.
“In the living room.”
“Okay.”
Charlotte let go of Anthony’s hand right away and walked inside, her steps light and quick.
Anthony stared at his empty hand, his dark eyes clouding over. A faint frown appeared on his usually composed face as he followed her into the house.
At the doorway, he saw Charlotte hugging a petite girl, playfully pinching her chin. Charlotte was grinning from ear to ear, looking absolutely delighted.
Anthony’s gaze grew sharp and dangerous.
The two girls turned when they heard him enter. Anthony stood there, tall and striking, every feature perfectly defined, an air of cold elegance wrapped around him.
Stella froze under his icy stare. Her
eyes widened in shock and her
breathing turned shallow.
arms.
Instinctively, she wrapped her around Charlotte’s and snuggled closer.
Anthony noticed the move, and his mood darkened even more. Charlotte was hugging another girl right in front of him. She was really pushing her luck.
