Chapter 605
Charlotte moved so fast, Janie didn’t even have time to react.
She went down again, tumbling off the balance beam and hitting the ground hard.
Everyone on Team 4 just stared, mouths hanging open.
Even Leland, their coach, had lost his smile.
Cotton glanced over at Leland with a smug little grin. “Charlotte really is number one. She picks things up quick.”
Anyone could see Charlotte was getting payback for Stella, making Janie eat her words. Sure, it looked a bit rough, but honestly, it was pretty satisfying to watch.
Leland looked like he’d swallowed something sour. Was Charlotte secretly trained in combat or something? And for a second, her moves and attitude reminded him of Donald. Was he just seeing things?
…
Janie climbed up onto the balance beam for the fifth time, looking shaky.
Cotton finally couldn’t take it anymore. “Charlotte, that’s enough!”
Give Team 4 a break already.
Charlotte looked down at Janie from above, lips curving into a cold smile. “Pathetic.”
Then she shoved her hard.
Janie hit the ground again, this time even harder than before. She just lay there, gasping, her body spent, legs trembling so much she couldn’t even get up. It hurt so badly she had to curl up, trying to breathe.
She stared up at Charlotte, eyes wide, pure hatred burning there.
A second later, Charlotte flew by like the wind, clearing obstacle after obstacle with steady speed and zero hesitation, racing straight to the finish line.
Time: two minutes, twenty-nine seconds.
She’d just beaten the best record.
Was she really controlling her time that precisely? Charlotte was unreal.
Janie, meanwhile, hadn’t even made it past the first obstacle before the game was
over.
People all around exchanged confused, shocked glances. Wasn’t Janie supposed to be a star athlete? How did she not clear even the first round?
The competition ended.
Charlotte won.
With her hands in her pockets, she wandered over to Janie, cool and collected. Her voice was cold. “Trying to play dirty?”
Janie glared back, cheeks burning red.
“I’ll destroy you,” Charlotte replied in that icy, careless way.
Janie clenched her jaw, fighting for words that wouldn’t come.
She was supposed to be the athletic star, but Charlotte didn’t even let her clear the first stage.
This was a humiliation she’d never forget.

Training finally wrapped up.
Team 1 had taken first place for both the men’s and women’s groups.
Leland looked absolutely furious.
Janie, still aching from her hard fall, forced her legs to work as she hobbled toward Charlotte, who was surrounded by admirers.
Charlotte leaned against a chain-link fence, eyes lowered, spinning an empty water bottle in her hand.
When Janie came closer, Charlotte lifted her gaze, her stare cold and unreadable.
“You got lucky today,” Janie said,
meeting Charlotte’s eyes without backing down. Her lips twisted into a
cold smile. “Tomorrow’s sparring

Sparring was Janie’s specialty. She’d won national titles. There was no way
Charlotte’s luck would last.
“I took first. Does that bother you?”
Charlotte couldn’t help but smile at
the challenge. She arched an
eyebrow, leaned in, eyes narrowing with amusement. “I’m pretty go
