Chapter 1341

“I’m here to talk business with Juniper,” Luella said, leaning comfortably against him. “I can’t move. Dress me.”
“Sure.”
Jimmie did as he was told. Once she was dressed, he pressed a tender kiss to her lips and coaxed, “Juniper actually invited me over for dinner tonight. We can go together.”
At the mention of dinner, Luella playfully kicked him again. Right. She had flown for twenty hours, hadn’t eaten a single bite, and had been completely devoured instead.
Jimmie just chuckled, though he looked slightly apologetic. “I’m sorry. My impulse completely overrode my logic last night. I just missed you so much, and seeing you suddenly standing at my door… I couldn’t help myself.”
“Shut up.” Luella felt her face grow hot, her heart racing as she bashfully looked down.
*Oh my god.*
Was she actually blushing? Love really did make people lose their minds. Terrifying.

At the Cloudscape Community.
To avoid suspicion, Jimmie arrived first.
Less than ten minutes after he sat down, Luella made her entrance.
The moment the door opened, both Shanley and Juniper looked completely bewildered, instinctively glancing over at Jimmie on the sofa.
“Surprise!” Luella walked in carrying a basket of fruit, flashing a bright smile. “Juniper! I’m back. Are you surprised?”
Juniper took a deep breath. She could feel the atmosphere in the room shift instantly. Surprised didn’t even begin to cover it.
“When did you get back?” Juniper rubbed her nose, whispering a quick warning. “Why didn’t you call ahead? Jimmie is here.”
“It was a last-minute flight.” Luella shoved the fruit basket into Shanley’s arms and sidled up to Juniper, craning her neck to look at Jimmie. “It’s fine. As long as I don’t make it awkward, he’s the one who has to suffer.”
Luella waved. “Hello there, Mr. Tate.”
Jimmie stood up, offering a polite, distant smile. “Long time no see, Mr. Langley.” Juniper and Shanley were like, “Huh?”
They had just gone through a supposedly heartbreaking rejection, and now they were acting this cool? The superstar really was a professional actor!
“Don’t you think they’re acting
weird?” Juniper crossed her arms, analyzing the overly formal
exchange between the two.

“Their vibe is definitely off,” Shanley agreed, a smirk tugging at the comer of his mouth. “If they do start

Jimmie was like a brother to her, and Luella was her good friend. Taking sides was impossible.
So, Shanley chose to just sit back and enjoy the show.
Juniper pinched him hard on the waist. “Dana, let’s eat!” she called out to the housekeeper.
At the dining table, Shanley and Juniper sat next to each other, while Jimmie and Luella sat side by side across from them.
The entire room was so quiet that the only sound was the clinking of silverware against porcelain.
Juniper mechanically ate her food, but her eyes were darting back and forth between the two of them.
Jimmie took a slow, elegant sip of his soup. Catching her stare, he offered a faint smile.
Juniper: *How is he still smiling?*
Meanwhile, Luella was keeping her head down, politely eating her chicken. When she noticed Juniper staring, she guiltily forced a stiff smile.
Juniper: *Wait, am I seeing things? She’s smiling too?*
And that wasn’t all. Luella was sitting perfectly straight today. No slouching. No
ankle resting on her knee like a mob boss.
Weird. It was incredibly weird.
Were these two secretly hooking up behind her back?!
“Cough, cough, cough—”
Luella, startled by Juniper’s intense scrutiny, suddenly choked and burst into a coughing fit.
“Are you “
Juniper grabbed a napkin, but before she could even reach across the table, Jimmie was already on his feet his voice laced with genuine panic. Are you choking? Here, drink some water!”
Juniper and Shanley was stunned.
Luella hadn’t even been coughing that badly, but the moment she saw the deeply
suspicious looks on their faces, she started coughing even harder.
She knew their secret was about to be busted!
