Chapter 1462
[ 573 words ]
“My brother keeps a clean profile. He doesn’t have any secret lovers.”
Juniper pulled the gift she had prepared out of her bag and handed it to Lorelei. “Here, Lorelei. This is a necklace I designed myself. Consider it a meeting gift.”
“It’s gorgeous.”
Lorelei opened the box to find a teardrop sapphire necklace. The design was incredibly intricate.
She offered a sweet smile, her tone gentle. “Thank you, Juniper. I love it.”
But still.
He might not have a secret lover, but he did have an old flame.
“Lorelei, are you going to divorce Harold?” Juniper glanced up at the man standing a
short distance away, her bright eyes shifting as she asked earnestly.
“Huh?”
The girl was quite direct, and Lorelei was caught off guard.
Had Harold already discussed this with his family in advance?
“It’s a bit complicated.”
Lorelei wanted to explain things to the girl, but didn’t know where to begin.
“Is he bullying you?”
Juniper thought for a moment before speaking softly.
“No.” Lorelei’s eyes widened, and she immediately denied it, her tone very serious.
“Dr. Houston is a wonderful person. The divorce is my issue.”
“Are you seeing someone else?” Juniper blinked, her eyelashes fluttering. “No.”
Lorelei choked back her panic, waving her hands frantically while trying to maintain a smile. “You can’t force love. If the feelings aren’t there, you can’t make them appear.”
“You can’t force love?”
Hearing that phrase, Juniper furrowed her brow, her red lips moving as she spoke. “I only care if what’s mine belongs to me. It doesn’t matter if it’s sweet or not, as long as it gets the job done.”
“But-“
Juniper stared at Lorelei. Catching the crestfallen look on her face, she blinked. “Do you like my brother, Lorelei?”
Suddenly asked to lay bare her deepest secret, Lorelei’s heart raced. She sat there with her mouth slightly open, too nervous to form an answer.
“You do like him.” Juniper confirmed her own suspicion. “And I have a feeling he likes you, too.”
“Since you both like each other, why do you want to get a divorce?”
“Likes me? Lorelei reached out and gently patted Juniper’s head, a bitter curve forming on her lips. “You’ve misunderstood Juniper Harold, he
“What are you two chatting about?” Harold walked over, interrupting Lorelei. “It’s starting to rain. Let’s head inside.”
“I guess it is.”
Juniper stood up and went back to Shanley’s side. “We’re heading out then, Lorelei. See you another time.”
“Okay.”
Lorelei found herself very fond of this younger girl and smiled warmly. “Once my leg is healed, I’ll personally design a bespoke silk dress for you.”
“Sounds great.”
Juniper waved, bidding them goodbye before leaving hand-in-hand with Shanley.
Watching their affectionate retreat, a hint of disappointment flashed in Lorelei’s eyes.
“What’s wrong?”
Noticing her staring fixedly after Juniper, Harold’s lips curved upward. “You like her?”
“I do.” Lorelei nodded. “Juniper is
adorable, and she has such a great
personality. She even gave me this necklace. It must be very expensive, right?”
“Don’t worry about it, she’s loaded.
Harold pushed the wheelchair back

imparted to him.
If you want to capture someone’s heart, you first have to capture their stomach.
Lorelei seemed to really enjoy good food. He could learn to cook a few more of her favorite dishes to win her stomach over first.
The other method was “seduction.”
Whether men or women, everyone was fundamentally a visual creature. People were inherently drawn to good-looking people and things.
According to that old fox, the reason Juniper fell for him in the first place… was largely because of his face, and his rather excellent physique.
