“A crime?”
Harold raised an eyebrow, a faint smirk appearing on his usually cold face as a low chuckle escaped his throat. “Is Mrs. Houston planning to subject me to some sort of illegal act?”
Lorelei’s eyes went wide, her cheeks burning so red they looked ready to bleed.
What did he just call her?
Mrs. Houston?
“If it’s within the bounds of marriage, whatever you want to do is perfectly legal.”
Harold looked completely serious, his voice coming out low and husky.

Lorelei froze again, her eyelashes fluttering wildly in confusion.
Harold was usually so proper. Was he actually talking dirty to her right now?
Or was she just twisting his words in her own dirty mind?
“Let’s eat.”
Seeing her eyes darting everywhere but at him, Harold slipped his arms under her armpits and the back of her knees, easily lifting her into the air.
Startled, Lorelei quickly threw her arms around his neck, her eyes instinctively drifting downward.
She realized that up close, the view inside Harold’s robe was even clearer.
She could practically count the defined ridges of his abs.
As a carefully raised lady from a prominent family, Lorelei had never seen such a “spectacle.” If she kept looking, she was definitely going to get a nosebleed.
To keep her imagination from running wild, Lorelei squeezed her eyes shut tightly.
Seeing her look like a martyr marching to her death, Harold looked down at his own physique.
Didn’t the old fox say Juniper hadn’t been able to blink when she saw him?
Why did Lorelei have her eyes squeezed shut with that expression on her face?
Was his body not tempting enough for her?
That shouldn’t be the case. He had seen Joel Garner before. His own physique was leagues better than Joel’s.

After dinner, Lorelei lay in bed, trying to finalize her design.

Lorelei threw back the covers to

immediately fell backward clamping her eyes shut.
The sight was simply too glorious. She didn’t dare look.
If she didn’t look, her mind would naturally empty itself.
After changing the dressing.
Harold walked to the door with the first aid kit. “What do you want for breakfast tomorrow?”
“Hmm?”
Lorelei peeked out from beneath the blanket, blinking twice before answering slowly, “Savory soup ravioli.”
“…Okay.”
Harold fell silent for a few seconds before nodding.
Savory soup ravioli?
He had never made them before, but if he followed a video, it shouldn’t be too hard.
The door clicked shut.
The room returned to silence. Lorelei grabbed her phone, her fingers flying across the keyboard:
