He smiles and releases my chin. “Sparring was good. Shane is a strong fighter, like you.”
“Yes, he is,” I say, finally feeling like I can say something meaningful.

“I’m going to shower then I’ll be down for dinner. Why don’t with me tonight. I’ll guide you through conversing with the pack during mealtimes. ”

I should say no. I should say that I can figure it out on my own. Instead, I just blurt out my agreement.
“Perfect, I’ll see you downstairs in about twenty minutes,” he says.
“See you then,” I say, turning and forcing myself not to rush down the stairs to get away from this man before he can smell my arousal.

After a great sparring session with Shane, I’d seen Enya sitting in the same chair that I found her crying in last night as we returned to the packhouse. I wanted to talk with her anyway, but now I’m worried that she might be up there crying alone again.
“It won’t be long before I’m taking you down, Christian,” Shane says good–naturedly. He, unlike Enya, had taken full advantage of our sparring session. Each time I caught him or pinned him, he’d asked me
to show him how I did it and how to get out of it. He’s an excellent warrior and a sponge, soaking in everything I’m teaching him.
“You’re right about that. Soon, I’ll have to pull out all the stops to keep you from defeating me,” I tell him as we make our way upstairs. I was right to get him out of the office. Whether he was just overwhelmed by all the information or if being in his father’s office for so many hours had been too much, getting outside and working off his energy has helped him to bounce back after our talk this morning.
“I’ll see you after dinner. Are we meeting again or running patrols?” he asks. Since I’m not sure if I’ll be able to speak to Enya now about what happened earlier, and I know we still need to deal with the group in the cells tonight, I decide that we’ll run patrols.
“I’m going to check in with Enya. I need to talk to her. If I can’t do that now, I’ll do it after dinner, so let’s plan to run patrols,” I tell him.
“Great. See you downstairs, ” he says, going into his room. I turn and knock on Enya’s door.
