There was something about Luna Mia telling me that my father barely passed the Academy that flipped something in my head. All my life, I’ve been trying to please a man who wasn’t able to be pleased. Not because of anything that I’ve done, but because he knows that it wouldn’t take much for me to be a better Alpha than he is. What kind of man, what kind of Alpha, what kind of FATHER tries to make his son fail so he can feel like less of a failure?
The moment I decided to stop trying to win my father’s
approval, everything inside me felt like it settled and relaxed in a way it never has before.
Luna Mia has been such a great mentor to me in more ways than one. She’s just the right amount of brutal honesty and loving kindness. And I feel pretty smug when she tells me I have some of the best hands and mouth she’s ever had the pleasure of experiencing, because I know she’s not just saying it. She means every word.
I smile we walk to the Communication class. We have the sex class tonight and while I know I probably won’t be able to beat Tyler for number of orgasms in one session, I do know that I’ll be able to make Luna Mia come so hard I’ll have to hold her onto the table during class.

“ It’s not just me, right? Being with an older woman is really different than being with someone our age?” he asks.
“ Night and day and far as I’m concerned,” I tell him. He nods as we enter the classroom.
“Okay, young Alphas. As I mentioned at our last class, even though some didn’t pay attention,” Alpha James says, looking at Logan. That guy needs to get his shit together. I’m so glad I’ve distanced myself from him. I have every intention of passing this semester and I refuse to associate with someone who is obviously on a sinking ship.
“And while we did learn a good lesson on how to turn the narrative on someone who is trying to be an intimidating prick, we’re going to try again today and see if we can have a
meaningful conversation. Liam and Logan, you’re up. Liam, you‘ re Alpha,” Alpha James continues.
Well shit. I guess I’m about to get my chance to figure out what Logan’s problem is.
We sit in front of the class, facing each other. Logan slouches like this is a waste of his time.
“So, what’s you deal man? Are you trying to fail the Academy?” I ask, getung right to the heart of the matter. In this class, we’re learning to be direct, honest, and to the point. So that’s how I start.
He shrugs. “Of course I’m not trying to fail. I’m an Alpha, an heir, so I need to be prepared to take over my pack.”
“Maybe that’s not what you want. Maybe you don’t want to be the heir so you’re setting yourself up to fail so you don’t have to.

“I’m not trying to fail,” he growls.
I narrow my eyes at him. “So then, you have an issue with women.”
“What the fuck? Are you fucking serious right now?” he growls.
“Well, let’s look at the facts, Logan. You insulted Luna Sylvie by claiming she couldn’t have an orgasm rather than accepting your own shortfalls. Since I’m partnered with a Luna as well, I can tell you that being with an older woman who knows her own body, who knows what she wants and can tell you how to give it to her is fucking freeing.
