“Well, you did say this was a date. And even though we already ate dinner, I stopped and got a little dessert to go with our whiskey,” I say, pulling out the shortbread.
“Oh, these are to die for!” she says, taking the box from my hands as I unpack the whiskey and glasses. “Look at you being all romantic, Alpha.”
She opens the box, then holds the glasses as I drop a couple of partially melted ice cubes into them and then pour the whiskey.
“To good friends and future lovers,” I say, holding up my glass.
“To good friends and soon to be lovers,” she says, clinking her glass against mine.

“Tell me about your meeting with Councilman Johnathon,” she says, so I do. She doesn’t seem surprised and when she tells me she talked to Enya carlier today, I understand why.

“I feel the same. I’m very thankful that he was the one assigned to come help me,” I say, setting my glass aside, turning my body, and lying back so my head is in Tiana’s lap.
She smiles at me and begins running her fingers through my hair.
“Meeting Christian has the added benefit of meeting his gorgeous, sassy, confident, and intelligent sister.

She frowns and looks around. “Where is she?”
I chuckle and she grins at me.
I sit up, propping myself on my elbow. I hold her gaze as I lean in, pressing my lips to hers. She responds instantly, returning the kiss, her tongue dancing with mine when I deepen the kiss.

“Mmm,” she says when we pull apart. “You taste even better after you’ve had some whiskey.”
“So do you,” I murmur, sliding my thumb over her lips, then letting my hand slide down to the top of her dress.
“Something on your mind, Alpha?”
“You,” I say, watching her as I slide my finger down the center of her chest.
I replace my finger with my lips, pulling the straps of her dress down and kissing my way down her chest.
She pulls her arms out of her dress, and it falls to her waist, leaving her perfect breasts bare for me.
I dip my finger into my glass of whiskey then watch her as I run my finger over her nipple.
“You’re different when we’re together like this,” I murmur, watching her eyes roll back into
his head.
“I am?” she breathes.

I lean forward and flick my tongue over her nipple, wrapping my arm around her waist when her body jerks. I suck her nipple into my mouth, growling at the taste of whiskey mingling with the taste of her. It adds a richness to her already earthy, woodsy taste and I press my mouth against her, not able to get enough of her delicious taste.
“Shane …” she gasps.
Without removing my mouth from her breast, I dip my fingers back into the whiskey and begin teasing her other nipple. When she begins whimpering, I pull off her nipple with a soft pop, then move to the other one.
“You smell delicious, and you taste even better,” I growl, sucking her other nipple into my mouth and growling once again at the mix of flavors.
