Chapter 1519

She had to be understanding. A man who had repressed himself for so many years…
“Harold.”
His teasing made her face turn even redder, and she was so embarrassed she could practically feel her hair standing on end.
“Alright, don’t be mad.” He gently pulled her over to the dining table and sat her down. “Juniper wrapped things up with Subterra Vanguard and is heading back to Borealia today. We should go see her off.”
“Oh.”
Her mood improved slightly. But when she went to change clothes and caught sight of her ‘disheveled’ state in the mirror, the irritation flared right back up: “How am I supposed to go out looking like this?!”
It was the middle of summer. She couldn’t exactly wear a turtleneck.
Holding the cat, Harold stood frozen, unsure of how to answer. Before he could think
of an excuse, a pillow came flying right at his face.
“Meow~”
Pudge Bellamy got nudged in the crossfire and let out a pitiful little noise.
Harold sighed. “Mom’s really angry now.”
At 3:00 PM.
The couple arrived at the airport right on time.
She wore a dress with a high collar, and she had layered on enough concealer to barely mask the marks on her neck.
She even let her usually pinned-up hair fall softly over her shoulders, perfectly hiding any unpresentable evidence.
“So much has happened lately, we didn’t even get to host you and Shanley properly.”
Lorelei handed a carefully curated bag of snacks to Juniper, her soft voice incredibly sweet. “Our chef made these. They’re quite good.”
“Well, since you brought snacks, all is forgiven.”
Juniper eyed the treats, her lips curling into a bright smile.
“Mm-hmm.”
Lorelei nodded gently and added, “Your custom dress studio has officially started production. It’ll definitely be ready in time for the wedding.”
Wedding?
Juniper paused to think. Going by the schedule, her wedding was still roughly seven months away.
The date was incredibly specific too-right on her birthday.
Not a day later.
It wasn’t like she was going to run away. She had no idea why Shanley was in such a rush!
“Thank you, Lorelei.” Juniper smiled in gratitude before leaning in close to whisper, “You and my brother aren’t going to talk about divorce anymore, right?”
“Never again.”
Lorelei glanced at Harold, blushing deeply as she shook her head.
“Good.”
Juniper sighed in relief. Before
boarding, she couldn’t help but add a
playful warning: “By the way… even though he’s technically fine my
brother really does need his
Don’t spoil him too much, okay?”
“Huh?”
It took Lorelei a full two seconds to process what the younger girl meant. When it clicked, her face went bright red. “I- He…..”
“Alright, we’re off!”
Knowing when to quit, Juniper quickly retreated to Shanley’s side, dumped the snacks into his arms, and waved at them. “See you next time, Harold, Lorelei.”
“Safe travels, Juniper.”
As soon as they were out of earshot, Lorelei batted her hands into fists and gently pounded on her husband’s chest, groaning into his shirt. This is all your fault Juniper totally knew.”
She was mortified.
“So what if she knew?” He wrapped his arms around her, kissing her forehead to soothe her “You think that sty fox she’s marrying is any better? My sister knows exactly how it is.”

“Stop talking!”
Lorelei pouted, her cheeks still burning. “I’m definitely not speaking to you tomorrow either.”
Fine.
As long as she didn’t make him sleep in the guest room.
Aboard the private jet.
Juniper curled up on the sofa, playing a game on her phone while Shanley continuously fed her grapes. “The skin is too sour,” she complained.
“Alright.”
He smiled, utterly devoted. Every grape he offered her after that was meticulously peeled.
“?”
She glanced up at him, raising an eyebrow. “Look at you, Mr. Schwartz. Eager to please.”
“I just had an excellent teacher.” He leaned in and pressed a kiss to the corner of her mouth.
Oh?
She smirked, a touch of arrogance in her expression. “I am pretty amazing, aren’t
