And then-he moved away.
Leaving Lydia lying there, her breath uneven, her thoughts scattered, her body still responding to everything he had done.
“Cale?” she called softly, uncertainty slipping into her voice.
“Yes, Love?”
This was what he had been waiting for.
He reached for something he had prepared earlier, opening the small box with deliberate calm. From it, he took one of the things he had planned for tonight.
“Get ready, my love,” he murmured. “Tonight… let yourself feel everything.”
When he returned to the bed, he didn’t rush. His hand moved first, brushing along her thigh, grounding her-making sure she wouldn’t be startled.
The faint hum reached her ears.
Lydia’s breath hitched.
