Chapter 744
“The right pavilion has been prepared for you, Miss Chen. Meanwhile, Master Kai and Mrs. Lydia will stay in the left pavilion.”
Naomi frowned deeply. “Why are they so far apart? Move my room closer.”
“That’s not possible, Miss Chen. Master Kai and Mrs. Lydia already-”
Ah.
Naomi suddenly understood exactly why their rooms needed to be separated by such a considerable
distance.
“Yeah, yeah, I get it,” she cut in quickly.
The two assistants nodded in perfect sync before continuing their explanations.
“Miss Chen, Master Yuan will arrive shortly. We should return to the sitting room.”
“Who’s that?” Naomi asked without much interest as she continued walking toward the koi pond, the sound of flowing water strangely calming against the quiet atmosphere around her.
“The Chen family’s personal tailor.”
Naomi’s brows furrowed instantly. “For what?”
“It would be best… if you came back now. Master Kai already instructed us to bring you back.”
Naomi rolled her eyes in annoyance, but there was no point arguing. Other than following whatever her assistants directed her to do, what else could she even do right now?
The moment she stepped back into the family sitting room, she saw Cale speaking comfortably with someone she had never met before.
“I’m back.” Naomi glanced at the watch on her wrist. “Exactly thirty minutes.”
Cale turned toward her with a satisfied smile. “Let me introduce you. This is Yuan Bao. He’ll be handling
or the gathering night.”
t a quiet sigh before forcing a smile. She reached out her hand, but the middle-aged man y bowed instead.
ome home, Miss Chen. I’m truly honored to finally meet you and serve you personally.”
Naomi sighed helplessly again. “Yes, I’m happy to meet you too, Mr. Yuan. Seriously, please don’t do this.”
Yuan slowly lifted his head, looking confused. “Is… there a problem?”
“Everyone keeps looking at me like I’m about to be crowned queen.”

“You’re being overly dramatic,” Cale commented flatly.
Naomi immediately shot him a glare. “This is all your fault.”
Cale didn’t look guilty in the slightest.
“If you want to stay alive long enough in Hong Kong,” he said calmly while sitting down in the main chair, “start getting used to people paying attention to you.”
Naomi clicked her tongue irritably.
But a few minutes later, she finally realized something.
The night she would officially be introduced wasn’t just an ordinary gathering.
And naturally, the preparations weren’t ordinary either.
The middle-aged tailor had arrived accompanied by three assistants carrying rolls of expensive fabric embroidered with intricate traditional designs.
Naomi had just started considering sneaking away quietly when Lydia immediately grabbed her hand.
“Don’t be so stiff. Mr. Yuan is only taking your measurements.”
Naomi’s pout deepened. “Can we make this faster?”
Yuan smiled patiently. “Just a little longer, Miss Chen. I only need to measure your back now.”
“I’m tired. Can’t you do the measurements while I’m sitting down?”
Lydia burst into soft laughter while the tailor continued measuring Naomi carefully.
“Unfortunately, no, Miss Chen,” Yuan explained politely. “It would make it difficult for us to get the proper fit. And the Chen family has its own traditional symbols. For the main heir, the colors and embroidery
cannot be chosen carelessly.”
Naomi immediately massaged her temples in surrender.
while, on the other side of the room, Cale sat reading through several documents. Even so, every
d then, his attention unconsciously drifted toward the fitting process.
do I have to wear something that extravagant?” Naomi complained again.
“Because those old elders are obsessed with symbols and formalities,” Cale answered flatly.
“And what if I refuse?” Naomi asked while following Yuan’s instructions to slowly turn her body.
“You want to make all those elders faint at the same time?”
Naomi immediately let out an annoyed huff while Lydia completely failed to hold back her laughter this
time.

But beneath the light atmosphere, Naomi could still feel the faint tension hanging throughout the Chen
residence.
The number of guards had increased. Several unfamiliar vehicles continuously came and went through the outer grounds. And every now and then, Liu could be seen receiving reports with an expression that only grew more serious.
