A moment later, he leaned back in his chair.

For years, the Black Dragon organization had stood under his control as the protector of the Chen name that had nearly vanished. But the true bloodline who should have stood at the center of that inheritance was now sleeping in an upstairs guest

room, unaware of how great a storm was hunting her.

“That was my plan,” Cale said at last.

Their conversation was interrupted when Liu’s phone demanded his attention.

At first, Liu’s expression remained neutral as he listened to the report coming through the call.

Then his eyes changed, suddenly alert.

He ended the call and looked sharply at Cale for several seconds before speaking.

“I’ve changed my mind. We should postpone announcing Miss Naomi’s return.”

One of Cale’s brows lifted slightly. “Why?”

“I just received news.”

He paused, then immediately worked on the tablet and slid over a new file.

Photos of a private airport. Street camera footage. Lists of vehicles entering the city. Names moving quietly through Hong Kong.

“Don Falcon is already in this city.”

Cale’s expression did not change, but the air around him turned intimidating.

“Since when?”

“A few hours ago. He used a private route. He has already activated his network of informants.”

“How close is he?”

“Not close enough to reach this house yet.” Liu paused. “But close enough to try.”

Cale rose and walked to the large study window.

From the upper floor, Hong Kong spread below like an endless sea of light.

“Increase security.”

“I already did the moment I heard the news.”

“Double it.”

“For whom?” Liu asked, visibly surprised.

Cale turned slightly. “Naomi and my wife.”

Liu bowed his head. “Yes, sir.”

Cale let out a long breath. “What about Chris?”

“I’ve already asked Daniel to inform him of the current situation and tell him to remain on standby.”

Cale nodded in understanding. His mind was suddenly crowded with too many things, including one more question.

“Any word from Brandon?”

“He knows Falcon has arrived, but he hasn’t moved.”

Cale stared out at the night sky beyond the window. “Falcon came too far for this to be mere curiosity.”

“That is my opinion as well.”

Liu stepped a little closer. “Which is why I advise canceling the announcement in two nights.”

“If I delay any longer, more people will start asking questions.”

“Let them ask.”

“Naomi has a right to her name.” Cale pressed tired fingers to his temple.

“And the right to live long enough to use it.” Liu gave his opinion bluntly. “Please think carefully about that.”

Those words silenced Cale.

From outside the room came Lydia’s laughter, followed by Grace shouting that the story was not finished yet.

The sounds of home.

The sounds of peace that were too easy to forget.

Cale looked at the door for a moment, then turned back to Liu.

“Raise perimeter security tonight. No visitors without permission. Inspect every vehicle.”

“Yes, sir.”

“And if Falcon gets close…”

“I understand.”

Liu was about to turn away when he stopped at the sound of Cale’s voice, lower than before.

“If Don Falcon learns who she really is…”

Liu looked at his master for a moment, then answered calmly, as though stating something inevitable.

“War will begin.”

“Then…” Liu let out a long breath. “No one must learn the truth, Mr. Cale. The entire Chen family is hoping you will act wisely. We trust that you can protect the Chen bloodline well.”

For the first time that night, Cale’s jaw tightened.

“You… haven’t forgotten the final promise you were meant to fulfill, have you?”
