Corvine slowly rose to his feet, his calm eyes locking straight onto Ravyn without even a flicker of fear or hesitation. “Alpha Ravyn,” his deep voice echoed clearly through the now-silent gym, “I didn’t come to the Centenary Pack for the Full Moon Festival.”

He stood tall with his shoulders squared, radiating the same commanding presence as the Alphas surrounding him. “I came here to protect Sera, because I consider her as my little sister.” His expression softened for just a heartbeat before hardening again. “And she listens to me.”

The room instantly filled with quiet, shocked whispers. Many of the visiting guests exchanged wide-eyed glances.

A Beta boldly standing up to his own former Alpha right in front of several powerful pack leaders? It was almost unheard of.

This was embarrassing to Ravyn and yet, it fascinated the onlookers.

From across the room, Voren watched the scene unfold with pride swelling fiercely in his chest.

The corners of his lips lifted in a subtle smile. Corvine never disappointed him. Whenever Voren thought he had seen it all, Corvine showed there was more.

Ravyn, however, refused to back down. Too many important eyes were on him.

Giving in now would mean losing face in front of every Alpha gathered there. He folded his arms. “She’s a medical doctor,” he said, his gaze fixed on Seraphine.

“She also has extensive knowledge of traditional werewolf medicine.” A clear challenge burned in his eyes. “If she truly claims she no longer has feelings for me, then she shouldn’t hold onto old grudges. She should help those injured warriors.”

Knowing Seraphine, she would give in by trying to prove that she had gotten over Ravyn and that was his plan all along the moment he encouraged Daisy to make the move.

Corvine’s expression didn’t waver. He was just about to reply when movement beside him caught his attention.

Seraphine slowly stood up. Without thinking, Corvine leaned closer to her, the hard look on his face vanishing the instant their eyes met. His gaze turned incredibly gentle and protective.

Seraphine leaned in and whispered a few quiet words that only he could hear.

Corvine listened carefully, then gave a small nod. She smiled faintly before sitting back down.

The whole exchange lasted just a few seconds, but Athaliah noticed every single detail. Her eyes widened, the deep, unbreakable trust between them was impossible to miss.

Corvine turned back toward Ravyn, a faint smile appearing on his face. “You’re fortunate,” he said, his tone polite even as the sarcasm underneath cut sharp and clear.

“My sister, my boss, my friend, and my best friend, Sera, has agreed to treat your injured warriors.” He shrugged lightly, watching the relieved look on Ravyn’s face, and the victorious curl of Daisy’s lips before he continued.

“After all, your pack clearly lacks the medical expertise to handle the situation properly.”

Several people in the crowd had to fight hard not to laugh. Ravyn’s face darkened with anger, as he could hear the heavy mockery behind Corvine’s words. It almost sounded like Seraphine herself was speaking through him.

“But,” Corvine continued, his smile disappearing completely, “there is one condition.”

Daisy immediately stepped forward. “What condition?” She forced a hopeful smile, her eyes locked desperately on Seraphine. “We’ll agree to it as long as she treats the warriors.”

Before anyone else could speak, Voren’s voice exploded inside Seraphine’s mind like thunder. ’You’re not treating them. Not under any circumstances.’

His tone left absolutely no room for argument, and his fierce possessiveness wrapped around every word. ’And if you even think about doing it, I’ll personally kill every one of them.’

Seraphine couldn’t help smiling. She quietly answered through their mind link, ’We’re thinking exactly the same thing, Love.’

The single word hit Voren harder than anything else could have. ’Love.’

Just hearing her call him that made every ounce of his anger vanish in an instant.

The tension drained from his shoulders, and a warm smile threatened to break across his face before he quickly hid it from everyone around him.

Meanwhile, Corvine kept speaking. “My sister wants only one thing.” His eyes swept across the entire crowd before settling firmly on Ravyn and Daisy. “She wants to know who was responsible for the chemical explosion.” A heavy silence settled over the room. Corvine didn’t break eye contact. “The person behind it must step forward, and must confess right here, in front of everyone. Only then will Sera, even consider treating those warriors.”

Daisy felt the blood drain from her face as her smile completely vanished. Beside her, Ravyn looked equally uncomfortable, humiliation crashed over him in waves.

Ever since his divorce from Seraphine, every single encounter with her ended in the same crushing way. Total embarrassment, shame, and deep regret. It was as if fate refused to let him hold onto even a shred of pride whenever she was near.

The silence didn’t last long. Whispers soon rippled through the crowd. “Beta Corvine is incredible,” one young warrior said, shaking his head in open admiration. “He carries himself like a true Alpha. Too bad he wasn’t born one.”

Another person nodded enthusiastically. “What former Beta would dare stand against an Alpha like that?”

A woman nearby smiled warmly toward Seraphine. “And he’s so hot. Had he not claimed Luna Sera as a sister, I would have shipped them for the most trending couple of the full moon festival.”

Then another one added. “Luna Sera is amazing. She hasn’t even spoken more than a few words, yet she’s turned this entire place upside down.”

The compliments kept spreading through the gym, each one landing like another painful slap across Daisy’s face. She wanted nothing more than for the ground to split open beneath her feet and swallow her whole.

How could she possibly admit she was the one behind the chemical attack? If Ravyn learned the truth right here in front of everyone, he would never forgive her. He might even kill her on the spot.

As panic kept building higher inside her, Corvine looked directly at her. One eyebrow slowly lifted, and a faint, mocking smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. “What happened?” His voice stayed calm, but every word sliced deep. “Cat got your tongue?”
