After a moment of deliberation, she tossed her pride to the wind. “That’s right,”
she declared loudly. “I am his father’s mistress! He loves a passionate, fiery woman like me! He says his wife at home is as exciting as a brick, and that I make him feel young again!”
If Penelope’s initial accusation had stunned the room, Mrs. Winters’s confession left everyone utterly shell-shocked.
“Mom!” Rebecca shrieked.

Mrs. Sullivan was the last to react. She lunged at Mrs. Winters, screaming, “You old witch! I’ll rip that lying mouth off your face! I’ll kill you!”
The police officer, having just been served a massive dose of drama, quickly intervened to separate them. “Alright, that’s enough! Both of you, calm down!”

How could you betray Mom? Betray our family?” Mr. Sullivan was completely bewildered. “What are you talking about?”
“And how could you choose my friend’s mother? Do you have any idea how humiliating this is for me?”

“Are you still denying it? Rebecca’s mother has confessed to everything!”
“Confessed to what?”
“That you two have been having an affair for ages!”
Mr. Sullivan stared at her, uncomprehending. “What… what do you mean, an affair?”
“Stop playing dumb! It means you cheated on Mom! You had an affair with that old homewrecker! And apparently, it was quite the
passionate one judging by the kinky lingerie she bought! It’s disgusting!”
With that, Penelope turned and walked over to Mrs. Sullivan. “Mom, don’t you worry. I’m on your side.”

“I support you divorcing Dad!”
Mrs. Sullivan’s jaw dropped. When had she ever said she wanted a divorce?
Still radiating fury, Penelope snatched the shopping bag from Mrs. Winters’s hand, pulled out the red lingerie, and threw it at Mr. Sullivan.
