“My darling daughter, Daddy loves you!” Marico dramatically scooped Kristin up and spun her around, making the little girl giggle uncontrollably.

Natalie was surprised that Kristin actually called Marico ‘Daddy.’ It seemed she genuinely liked him.

Oh well, she thought, I’ll explain things to her after this is all over.

With that in mind, Natalie said nothing and continued making breakfast.

After they ate, the three of them left the apartment. The moment Hamilton saw them, he got out of his car. His face was dark, his eyes fierce, especially when he saw Marico holding Kristin. Anyone would have thought they were father and daughter.

“Daddy, are we really going to the amusement park today?”

“When has Daddy ever lied to you?”

“I love you, Daddy.”

“Daddy loves you too, sweetie.”

Marico kissed Kristin’s cheek, and she gave him a big, exaggerated kiss back. Then they both burst into laughter.

Even Natalie felt the act was a bit over the top, but when she saw Hamilton’s face darken even further, she knew they had achieved the desired effect.

“Well now, Mr. Amos, you’re here bright and early,” Marico said, then feigned surprise. “Or could it be you were here all last night? Weren’t you cold?”

Hamilton’s eyes narrowed. “Marico, I haven’t made my move against you yet. Don’t think for a second I’m going to let you off the hook.”

Marico quickly covered Kristin’s ears. “If you’re going to make threats, Mr. Amos, give a guy some warning. Don’t scare my daughter.”

“Marico!”

“Oh, right. Natalie told me you suspect Kristin is your daughter? Ha! Sorry, I’m not trying to laugh, it’s just… too funny! You want a paternity test, right? Fine. My daughter and I will be happy to cooperate.”

Hamilton’s fists clenched. The humiliation he felt now was no less than the shame of being cheated on all those years ago.

Seeing Hamilton’s reaction, Marico quickly handed Kristin to Natalie.

“You looking for a fight?” Marico sneered. “You’re the one insisting on dragging my daughter into some bullshit paternity test. I was already thinking about kicking your ass, and here you are, serving yourself up on a platter!”

Hamilton could no longer hold back. He swung his fist at Marico, which was exactly what Marico was waiting for He met the attack

started brawling.

Natalie was stunned for a moment, not expecting them to actually fight. But this was probably the only way to get Hamilton to drop the idea of a paternity test.

The two men fought fiercely, trading blows until they were both bruised and swollen. It was only when security guards surrounded them that they finally separated.

Natalie rushed to Marico with Kristin, saw his nose was bleeding, and asked guiltily, “Are you okay?”

Marico wiped away a smear of blood and grinned at Natalie. “So, you admit you owe me one?”

Natalie cleared her throat. “I owe you. I promise I’ll pay you back.”

As they were whispering, they lost track of Kristin for a second. When they looked up, the little girl had already run over to Hamilton and was hitting him with her tiny fists

“You hit my daddy! You’re a bad man! You bully my mommy and me! I’m going to have the police take you away!”

Seeing Hamilton’s face turn absolutely grim, Natalie quickly went over and picked Kristin up.

Hamilton looked at her. “You… you feel sorry for him?”

Natalie pressed her lips together. “He’s my daughter’s father. Of course I do.”

“Then… what about me?”

“You?” Natalie scoffed. “Hamilton, how dare you even ask that question? Have you forgotten everything you’ve done to me over the past six years?”

Hamilton wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and pushed himself up.

“Natalie, between the two of us, you’re the one who’s truly heartless!”
