Chapter 539
At ten in the morning, the senior kindergarten class had their outdoor activities.
The teacher led them through some exercises before letting them have free play.
Queena wasn’t wearing her uniform today either. Instead, she wore a princess dress her mother had bought from abroad, complete with a tiara on her head. She expected the other girls to flock around her in envy, but contrary to her expectations, they all ignored her.
Queena was annoyed. They were ignoring her just to make her stoop to win them over. No way!
She shot the other girls a glare, then looked around. Seeing Julian talking with a few boys on the west side of the playground, she immediately ran towards them.
“Hey, Julian, Queena’s coming for you again,” one of the boys said to Julian. Julian glanced at Queena, who was running eagerly towards them, and frowned.
“She told all the girls in class that she’s going to marry you and that they should stay away from you.”
At that, the other boys burst out laughing.
At their age, they didn’t really understand what marriage meant, but they knew that if someone disliked another person, they wouldn’t marry them. And everyone in class knew that Julian disliked Queena. Yet, Queena, in her own world, couldn’t fathom any reason why Julian would dislike her.
“Julian!” Queena called out before she even reached them.
Julian turned his body away, having no intention of acknowledging her.
“So annoying.”
Just then, two small figures suddenly appeared, blocking Queena’s path with their hands on their hips. Julian looked closer and realized it was the same two kids from this morning.
Queena, her path blocked, was about to lose her temper, but she was surprised when she recognized who was standing in her way.
“What are you doing here? You go to our school now? Aren’t you a country bumpkin?”
Kristin gritted her teeth. “Even if I’m a country bumpkin, I’m still better than a clumsy, dancing show-off like you!”
“Who are you calling clumsy!” Queena’s eyes widened.
“I’m calling you a show-off! A mean bully! An ugly monster who wears a princess dress even though you’re hideous! Kristin shouted, hands on her hips.
“How dare you insult me! I’m going to hit you!”
Feeling emboldened on her own turf, Queena lunged forward to attack. But in the
next moment, Hubert pushed her, sending her stumbling to the ground.
“And which country bumpkin are you?”
“I’m Kristin’s brother, and you bullied her. I’m here to get revenge for her!”
With that, Hubert pounced on Queena, holding her down so Kristin could hit her.
Queena was no match for a boy who was used to roughhousing in the countryside. She couldn’t break free and could only take the beating.
Although Queena was screaming
bloody murder, they were in a
secluded corner of the playground, and the teacher was busy with other students far away, so no one noticed what was happening.
“Those two don’t look like they go to our school,” one of Julian’s friends said.
“Should we stop them or tell the teacher?” another boy asked, seeking opinions.
Julian shrugged. “You guys don’t dislike Queena?”
“I can’t stand her! She hit me last week!”
“She spread a rumor that I like her, and her mom even yelled at me!”
“In that case, let’s just pretend we didn’t see anything,” Julian said with a shrug.
Everyone agreed. Queena was a total bully in their class. It was satisfying to watch someone else teach her a lesson.
However, it wasn’t long before the teacher spotted them and shouted from across the playground.
Hubert immediately jumped up, grabbed Kristin, who was still swinging her fists, and they made a run for it.
The two little ones ran around the
school building to the main gate, only to find it locked. They ran-
around again but found no back gate, and the surrounding walls were too high to climb. ‘
