Chapter 659

An hour passed, and there was still no sign of the actress. The exasperated director called over her staff. Her assistant stammered for a bit before admitting the actress might be heartbroken over a breakup and that they couldn’t find her either.

A crew member remarked, “No wonder she seemed off. But out here in the middle

of nowhere… you don’t think she’d do something stupid, do you?”

The comment terrified the director.

“Everyone, drop what you’re doing and find her, now!”

The actress was somewhat well-known; if something happened to her on his set,

the whole production would be jeopardized. Natalie joined the search. When she got

to the mountain road from before, she suddenly thought of Marico.

Could the actress be with him?

She quickly called him. He finally picked up on the fifth try.

“Where are you?” she asked urgently.

“Hah, where I am is none of your business. Are you crazy?”

“I need to know where you are right now!”

After shouting, Natalie realized she’d been out of line. They weren’t even friends, after all.

“It’s just… an actress from our set is missing, and I saw you two together earlier.”

“So you think I’ve got her hidden away somewhere?”

“I’m worried something might have happened to her.”

“Like suicide?”

“You guessed right.”

Natalie was stunned. “So you really are with her?”

“I’ll send you an address. Come over.”

After hanging up, Marico sent the location. Natalie opened it and saw he was nearby. She hurried along the mountam path, first spotting car, then Marico himself, sitting casually on a rock by the road,

basking in the sun.

As she ran closer, she saw the actress in front of the car, still in her costume,

holding something against her own throat.

Marico spat. “I don’t have a moral compass!”

“I don’t want money! I want you! I love you!”

“You want me? Who do you think you are? You can’t afford me.”

The actress cried and screamed, professing her deep love, while Marico laughed and sneered, his face a mask of disdain.

“If you don’t love me, what’s the point of living!” the actress cried, about to plunge the sharp end of the hairpin into her neck.

Natalie shouted, “He’s a scumbag! Is it really worth hurting yourself over someone like him?”

The actress only just noticed Natalie then. She shook her head, crying, “You have no idea how much I love him.”

“I don’t get it. How could you fall in love with… a thing like him!”

Marico didn’t like that. “I’m rich, handsome, and generous. I’m way better than most men.”

“I don’t want your money, I want you to love me!” the actress screamed, breaking down.

Marico sighed. “Can’t you ask for something I actually have?”
