Penelope took out her phone and showed Anna a photo Hannah had sent her. Hannah had visited Gary’s family on a business trip last month and taken the picture.
In the photo, Gary was shrunken in a wheelchair, so thin he was just skin and bones. His hair was long and unkempt, his eyes were vacant, and he couldn’t even focus on the camera.
