“Ms. Laurier, are you absolutely certain about this?”

The female doctor asked Penelope again. She had been Penelope’s primary physician since her car accident, overseeing the treatments that were all aimed at helping her conceive.

“You really, really need to be sure. If you go through with this, your chances of conceiving again will be even lower.”

Penelope took a deep breath. “Ms. Lancaster, you’ve said this to me many times.”

“And I’ll say it again because you must think this through! Don’t make an impulsive decision that you will regret for the rest of your life!”

Penelope shook her head. “I won’t regret it.”

Seeing that Penelope’s mind was made up, the doctor could only sigh in resignation.
