Chapter 542

Maria’s face darkened, but she reluctantly ordered the bodyguard to put Hubert down.
The moment Hubert’s feet touched the ground, he kicked the bodyguard. Seeing Kristin’s injury, he was so angry he could barely breathe and was about to charge at Maria.
“Run, now!” Julian shouted at him.
Hubert looked at the people surrounding them. Despite his anger, he knew he couldn’t win this fight alone. He gave Julian a quick nod, then pulled Kristin up, hastily wiped away her tears, and they ran.
As the two children disappeared, Maria glared at Julian.
“Are you going to put the phone down now?”
Julian shrugged and lowered his phone.
“Delete the video you just recorded!”
Julian blinked. “I never recorded anything.”
“You lied to me!”
“Saying I recorded it was the lie. Saying I didn’t is the truth.”
“I don’t believe you!”
She gave a look to her bodyguard, who stepped forward, snatched Julian’s phone, and handed it to Maria. Maria frantically searched through it several times. Seeing that there was truly no video, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Just then, Penelope and Natalie arrived.
When Natalie saw Maria, she immediately knew what had happened.
“Where is my daughter? What have you done to her?”
Maria stared daggers at Natalie. She had suppressed this woman for six years and expected her to be a pathetic wreck by now, yet here she was, still radiant.
“Natalie, I never thought we’d meet again.”
“I asked you where my daughter is!”
“I thought you got rid of the child back then. I can’t believe you actually gave birth. How shameless, how thick-skinned can you be!”
“Maria, I don’t have time for your nonsense!”
“Too bad for you, because I have all the time in the world.”
Realizing she wouldn’t get anything out of Maria, Penelope went straight to Julian
and asked if he had seen Hubert and Kristin.
“Is that little boy your son?” Julian asked, raising an eyebrow.
Penelope nodded. “His name is Hubert Laurier.”
“They just ran out. You should hurry and go after them. You might still be able to catch up.”
Hearing this, Penelope couldn’t care about anything else and pulled Natalie towards the exit.
But Maria blocked their path. “How do you raise your children? Teaching them to bully the weak even chasing them to school! They may have escaped, but you must apologize to my daughter!”
Penelope had no time to deal with Maria now. She ignored her and continued towards the gate.
Maria couldn’t swallow her pride and had her bodyguards block them again. Penelope narrowed her eyes. “You want to fight?”
“If your people dare to touch them, I’ll post the video of you hitting that child online!” Julian shouted at Maria again.
Maria’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Didn’t you say you didn’t record anything?”
“Do you think I’m stupid? When you
get something that good, you back it
up immediately. I have several
copies saved in several different places.”
“You think I’ll fall for that again?” Maria seethed.
Julian looked like he couldn’t be bothered to argue. “I’ll count to three

think she was a monkey? Even monkey wouldn’t be played like this!
But she didn’t dare call his bluff. Gritting her teeth, she finally ordered her bodyguards to move.
Penelope gave Julian a nod of gratitude and rushed out to find the children. But by the time they got outside, the two kids were long gone.
