The most important thing right now was to clear the air. Natalie didn’t care about
herself anymore-she’d already left the industry-but she couldn’t let Dylan’s career be destroyed because of her.

Just as Natalie was about to try calling again, Dylan’s wife called her.

“He’s not with you?”
Natalie was stunned. “We went our separate ways after dinner.”

“Dylan said you were still recovering from childbirth and he needed to get back early, so we parted ways around nine.”
