Chapter 584

Maria said she was waiting for her in the lounge outside the ballroom on the twenty- eighth floor of The Grand Orion Hotel.
Only when Natalie arrived did she realize it was the patriarch of the Amos family’s birthday, and they were hosting a grand gala for him in the ballroom. She slipped past a few acquaintances and found the lounge at the end of the corridor.
Two bodyguards stood outside the lounge. Seeing her approach, they opened the door for her.
Inside were not only Maria but also a sullen-looking Hamilton. As soon as she entered, Hamilton’s head snapped up, and his expression darkened even further as he looked at her.
“The old man rarely leaves the estate, let alone gets involved in family or business matters. How did he find out about the child? I’d wager someone told him, wouldn’t you?”
Maria directed her words at Hamilton, but her venomous gaze was fixed on Natalie.
“Natalie, have you lost your mind? Telling the old man she’s my daughter? Do you really think he’d believe you based on your word alone?” Hamilton seethed.
Natalie frowned. “When did I ever tell your grandfather about Kristin? I haven’t seen him once since our divorce!”
“You’re still lying!”
“I have no reason to lie!”
She didn’t, but Hamilton clearly didn’t believe her. It was just like years ago when he suspected the child in her belly wasn’t his. No matter what she said, he refused to believe her. After the paternity test, he trusted the results even less than her word.
But couldn’t results be faked?
“So Kristin is with you. Give her back to me!”
Hamilton narrowed his eyes. “My grandfather wants me to take her for a paternity test!”
At this, a look of fear crossed Natalie’s face.
“No, I won’t allow it!”
“It’s not up to you!”
“Hamilton, we already did a test years ago! Kristin is not your child!”
“Of course I fucking know that! I don’t want to do this test either, I don’t want to be humiliated again!”
“Then give Kristin back to me!”
“I don’t even want to look at that little bastard!”
Natalie couldn’t stand anyone, especially Hamilton, insulting her daughter like that. Fury surged through her and she lunged forward to slap him, but he caught her wrist.
His grip was bone-crushing, as if he meant to snap it in two, and he glared at her with clenched teeth.
“Maria said you deliberately tricked her into saying some things in anger and recorded it. I want you to delete all of it in front of her recordings videos, everything. Wipe it all clean and promise you’ll never cross Maria again!”
So that was his ultimate goal.
“That’s despicable!” Natalie spat at Hamilton. “Using a child to threaten me. You’re barely human!”
“Natalie!”
“Hamilton, I used to hate you, but I never looked down on you. From this moment on, I do. You’re not a man!”
“You’re asking for it!”
Hamilton shoved Natalie away. She slammed hard against the wall, and her arm made a sickening pop as it seemed to dislocate.
She bit her lip to stifle the pain. Facing the enraged Hamilton, she wasn’t afraid for herself but she was
terrified of what he might as
Kristin.
“Fine. I’ll delete it.”
She took out her phone, her hands trembling as she deleted the video she had
recorded earlier.
“Is that good enough for you?”
She held up the phone for Hamilton and Maria to see.
Maria, anxious that something might go wrong, inspected it carefully before handing
the phone back to Natalie.
Just then, a bodyguard entered the room.
“Mr. Amos, the child ran up to the roof!”
