Chapter 779
Jennifer’s silence had thoroughly angered Leon.
“This woman…”
He hated it when sorneone refused to answer calls or messages during an argument.
He hated people who disappeared on him.
His assistant, Shane, stepped into the office.
“Mr. Redson, Ms. Tanner has gone to Hamilton.”
The moment Leon realized he could not reach Jennifer, he had people start looking for her.
Now that he knew she was in Hamilton, his brows pulled together.
“What is she doing in Hamilton?”
That woman.
As far as he knew, Jennifer had no relatives there and no business there either.
“She made an appointment at a hospital.”
“A hospital? Is she sick?”
Hearing that Jennifer had gone to a hospital in Hamilton made Leon even more uneasy.
Harbor City had plenty of excellent hospitals..
Why would she travel all the way to Hamilton for medical care?
“She went to the OB-GYN department.”
To be fair, Leon might be unreliable when he was with Evan and the others.
But the people around him were competent.
In such a short time, Shane had found out exactly where Jennifer was and why she had gone.
The moment Leon heard OB-GYN, his heart jolted.
“OB-GYN?”
What did that even…
Wait.
Why would she be there?
“She booked an ultrasound. It was to check on a pregnancy,”
Leon went still.
A pregnancy.
Jennifer was pregnant?

For a second, joy flashed in his eyes.
But then he remembered the breakup message she had sent him, and his face darkened immediately.
She was carrying his child and still wanted to break up with him.
That woman really had some nerve.
“Ms. Tanner went to gynecology, not obstetrics,” Shane added.
“What does that mean?”
“Obstetrics is for continuing a pregnancy.”
“So?”
“Ms. Tanner may not intend to continue it.”
Leon’s expression changed.
“What?”
“Usually, if someone plans to continue the pregnancy, they go through obstetrics for their prenatal records and tests. If they do not, gynecology handles it.”
Leon could not stay still any longer.
He shot to his feet, grabbed the coat off the back of his chair, and headed for the door as he pulled it on.
“Send me the address of that hospital.”
“Right away.”
Leon was losing his mind.
Jennifer had gone to Hamilton to end the pregnancy?
She did not want their child?
All because he had not believed her about the hundred dollars?
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became.
He called Jennifer again and again.
But she refused every call.
His messages became heated.
‘Jennifer, if anything happens to our baby, I’ll never forgive you.’
Meanwhile, Jennifer was already in the ultrasound room.
The doctor said the pregnancy was still very early.
After reviewing her test results, the doctor told her that she was healthy and could schedule the procedure for the next day.
“Can’t it be done today?” Jennifer asked.

She did not want to wait until tomorrow.
“The operating rooms are fully booked today. You’ll need to come back tomorrow.”
Jennifer climbed down from the exam table.
“Fine.”
She got dressed, collected her results, and brought everything to the doctor.
The doctor told her the same thing.
Tomorrow.
“Then book me for the first appointment tomorrow.”
“Of course.”
The doctor gave her the paperwork and told her she could pay the fees today, then return for the procedure
tomorrow.
Jennifer paid without hesitation.
Do not ask why she was so determined.
Leon had said it himself.
He thought she wanted to break up just because he had not believed her over a hundred dollars.
He had completely missed the point.
A man like that might be fine to date.
But marrying him?
That would not be finding a husband.
That would be raising a grown child who never listened to her.
