Felix took Stella straight back to Mount Pansworth.
The entire ride, neither of them brought up Evan.
When they got out of the car, Felix said, “Things have gone too far for you and Evan to stay together now. Someone in the Wright family wants you dead. And…”
He stopped there.
Their eyes met.
For a moment, Stella felt like she could drown in the depth of his
gaze.
Then Felix continued, “And it’s not just one person.”

“The Wright family actually dared to do this to you, and you still expect me to stay out of it?”
His voice over the phone was dark and severe.
Aaron had never liked the Wright family, not after the way they treated Stella.
The moment he found her, he had wanted to go after Wright Group.
But back then, Stella had stopped him.
She had said she wanted the divorce first, and she did not want the Wright family finding out who she really
was.
The way Dora had always fawned over Summer disgusted her.
If kindness only came because of how powerful your family was, then that kind of kindness was fake to begin with.
And she had no use for it.
Stella said, “I’m the one who fed him that bowl of porridge.”
Aaron was shocked.
