It made her want to escape.
She felt like someone drowning, struggling desperately toward the surface, only to find nothing when
she reached out.
“What about Felix’s men?”
“One of them was injured. We don’t know how badly.”
Stella closed her eyes.
Two of her people had been seriously injured.
Only one of his had been hurt.
Why had Felix’s men dared to open fire on hers?
Because Felix had authorized it, of course.
So that was how he wanted to play this?
Fine.
Very well.
“Pass the order down. From now on, if Felix’s men try to stop us again, don’t hold back.”
Every word was edged with ruthless resolve.
If Felix was willing to go this far to protect Summer, Stella had no reason to show him any courtesy.
Gray nodded.
“Yes.”
Not long after breakfast, Felix arrived.
The usual warmth in his expression had faded noticeably.
Stella set down her napkin and rose from the table.
Leah had already arrived.
Recently, Stella had thrown herself into every lesson Leah arranged for her.
She worked relentlessly every day.
No one knew whether she was using the training to numb herself or preparing for something.
And when Stella was lost and uncertain, no one could predict what she might do.

Chapter 851
The moment Felix saw that she was leaving as soon as he arrived, he caught her wrist.
“We need to talk.”
“There’s nothing to talk about.”
Her voice was icy.
As she said it, she lowered her gaze to him.
Her eyes were just as cold.
Their gazes met, and Felix’s grip tightened around her wrist.
“I don’t want things between us to become like this.”
“Then tell me,” Stella said. “Who caused this? You or me?”
He did not want this?
Then perhaps he should not have done everything that brought them here.
He had already crossed every line he should not have crossed.
Now he was saying he did not want their relationship to become like this?
“Stella.”
“I want Summer to pay with everything she has. Will you step aside?”
Felix fell silent.
The room became so quiet that even a pin hitting the floor would have sounded deafening.
Felix stared at her without answering.
And his silence was an answer in itself.
She had already asked him this before.
His response then had made his position clear.
So why had she asked again?
Maybe some part of her had still wanted to give him one last chance.
Felix said he did not want their relationship to become like this.
Deep down, neither did Stella.
She rarely compromised for anyone.
But now that she finally had, Felix did not seem to want it.

“Then we have nothing left to discuss.”
Under his silence, Stella forcefully pulled her wrist free
She turned away.
Behind her, Felix asked, “Does it have to go that far?”
“Yes.”
Her answer was firm.
But a moment later, she added, “Even if she keeps her life, she doesn’t deserve to keep living comfortably above everyone else.”
At the very least, Summer belonged at the bottom.
She belonged behind bars, paying for everything she had done.
Stella turned back.
“Even prison isn’t acceptable to you?”
That was already the greatest compromise she could make where Summer was concerned.
And yet Felix still disappointed her.
