“Mom, you have to stand up for me. What gives Stella the right to humiliate me like this?”
Ruby already had a pounding headache. Seeing Summer like this only made her more irritated. “What now?”
“She… she’s trying to take my things. Patrick just came with a stack of documents and made me sign them. They’re all transfer agreements, and there’s this long list saying I have to return everything!”

The more she spoke, the more worked up she became, until she broke down crying.
Ruby’s expression darkened further.
“That’s nothing serious. Just give it back to her.”
Right now, she had no time to deal with something this trivial.
Compared to the chaos unfolding overseas, what Summer was going through barely even registered.
But Summer froze when she heard that.
“Mom… what did you just say?”

She stared at Ruby in disbelief. “Is this just about giving it back? She’s humiliating me. You need to stand up for me.”

“Can you get Felix to come to the hospital instead?”
