Chapter 780
As Jennifer left the hospital, she glanced at her phone, which had been buzzing nonstop.
Another message from Leon had come in.
‘You heartless woman. What did the baby ever do wrong? I’m the one who didn’t believe you. Take it out on me if you’re angry.’
Jennifer stared at the screen, completely speechless.
She had always thought Leon seemed a little unreliable when he was hanging around Evan and the others.
But how had he found out about her pregnancy so quickly?
Seriously.
She had never planned to tell him.
And take it out on him?
What was there to take out on him? They were breaking up. What was the point?
Another message came in.
‘Let’s talk. Don’t do anything impulsive. Please don’t do anything about the baby.’
Leon was genuinely panicking.
Especially since Jennifer would not answer his calls or reply to his messages.
In a moment like this, that was enough to make anyone lose their mind.
Jennifer stood at the curb, trying to hail a cab, with no intention of responding to him.
Then a car suddenly stopped in front of her.
Jennifer thought it was a taxi at first.
But it was a Silver Seraph.
She instinctively stepped back.
The window lowered halfway, revealing Lucas’s face.
“Ms. Tanner? What are you doing here?”
Because of Leon, Lucas greeted Jennifer.
But why was she standing outside a hospital?
“I’m visiting a friend.”
“Are you trying to get a cab? Want a ride?”
“No, no. Someone’s picking me up.”
Jennifer hurried away after saying that.
Lucas was one of Leon’s friends.

She needed to keep her distance.
Stella might have been close to Lucas before, but Jennifer did not really know him.
Better to stay away.
Watching her rush off, Lucas frowned.
He pulled out his phone and called Leon.
Leon picked up almost immediately.
“What?”
Jennifer had him so frustrated that he was in no mood for anyone else.
Lucas, who had known Leon for years, was surprised.
“Are you in a bad mood?”
Of all of them, Leon had always had the best temper.
He was usually the last person anyone would expect to lose it.
“No. What is it?”
Lucas was not convinced.
“Your girl seems sick. Why aren’t you with her?”
“Did you run into her?”
“Yeah. Outside a hospital. Why would she come all the way to Hamilton when Harbor City has plenty of good hospitals?”
“Wait, you need to stop her for me.” Leon’s voice turned urgent.
He cut Lucas off before he could finish.
Lucas blinked. “What?”
“She’s going to end the pregnancy.”
“End a pregnancy? What pregnancy? I didn’t see her doing anything like that.”
Lucas did not understand.
He thought back carefully. Jennifer had not been doing anything unusual when he saw her.
Besides, she was not pregnant, was she?
It was not like she would go around doing something to someone else’s child.
“Seriously, use your head,” Leon snapped.
Hearing Lucas’s confusion nearly drove him insane.
“She’s pregnant with my child. She went to the hospital to end the pregnancy.”
Lucas froze.

“What?”
“Go stop her. Now.”
Leon sounded frantic.
He could not reach Jennifer.
And now Lucas had happened to run into her.
How could Leon not panic?
