Chapter 989
By the time Stella, Remi, and Seymour reached Mance Island, it was already two in the morning.
They stood on the mountaintop, listening to the fierce fighting below.
“Is that them?” Stella asked.
Remi nodded.
“Yes.”
Stella said nothing.
The battle was even more intense than she had expected.
General Litt was willing to pay such a heavy price to come after Stella because of Summer.
She could not help wondering what Summer had truly meant to that old man.
Back in Harbor City, Summer had never shown the slightest sign that she had any connection to someone as powerful as Litt.
And given Summer’s personality, if she had such an influential man backing her, she would never have kept it hidden until the very end.
So what exactly had their relationship been?
Whatever the answer was, it no longer mattered.
Once Litt was gone, everything would be over.
Summer was already dead.
Now only he remained.
Stella sent out a message.
A response arrived almost immediately.
‘We’re already inside.’
A faint smile touched Stella’s lips.
So Litt wanted her dead?
Then tonight, he could die here instead.
Stella typed another message.
‘Five million extra if it’s over within an hour.’
After sending it, she put her phone away.
It was too dark to see much.
All she could make out were flashes of fire below, accompanied by the sounds of the battle. “Are you certain none of Felix’s or Aaron’s people followed them here?” Stella asked Seymour.

Ever since learning that Amos intended to move against Litt tonight, she had ordered Seymour to keep a close watch on both Felix and Aaron’s men.
“Some of their people came,” Seymour replied.
Stella’s expression changed immediately:
“But neither of them came in person.”
They had not come themselves, but they had still sent men.
Stella gave a cold laugh.
Felix and Aaron truly never missed an opportunity to side against her.
And men like that still expected her to trust them.
How could she?
“It’s still better that they didn’t come personally,” Remi said.
Felix and Aaron themselves would have been far more difficult to deal with.
Without them there, their men would lack coordination.
Stella took out her phone and sent another message.
“Take down every one of Felix’s and Aaron’s men.’
Even through the screen, the ruthlessness behind the order was unmistakable.
She had already broken completely with Felix once because of Summer.
Many of the men he had sent to protect Summer had paid the price.
Now Aaron’s men would be no different.
Stella had once wanted to live peacefully.
She had wanted to cherish the family she had finally found.
She had even given part of her heart to Felix.
But sometimes, no matter how sincerely one person wanted peace, the other side had no intention of offering the
same.
And in the end, they still acted as though she was the unreasonable one.
Fine.
Let them call her unreasonable.
Their version of reason was not worth accepting.
If she was going to burn everything down, she might as well finish the job.
Felix could go down with it.
So could Aaron, her own biological brother.

Her phone vibrated.
Stella glanced at the screen.
Felix was calling.
She answered without speaking and simply held the phone to her ear.
“I’m in Seaborne,” Felix said.
“You’re in Seaborne,” Stella replied, “but your men are on Mance Island. Isn’t that right?”
Felix fell silent.
The atmosphere on the call instantly froze.
Stella continued before he could respond.
“Felix, I honestly don’t know what to say about you anymore. Your men came here to protect Litt, the man who wants me dead.”
“Stella.”
“You and I really are finished.”
