Chapter 906
Stella had already been angry.
Hearing Evan say that only infuriated her more.
This time, she hung up without another word.

Already on his way to the Black Sea, Evan was not surprised in the slightest when Stella ended the call.
Amos had overheard most of the conversation.
“Your wife has quite a temper,” he remarked, handing Evan a glass of red wine.
“If she didn’t, do you think the Wright family would’ve ended up in ruins?”
Amos fell silent.
Fair point.
Had Stella been even slightly more forgiving, the Wright family would never have fallen apart the way it had.
“Are you blaming her?” Amos asked.
Surely Evan resented her at least a little.
The Wright family had once been immensely powerful, yet Stella had torn it apart almost single-handedly.
Worse, she had joined forces with Felix to do it.
Most men would never have been able to forgive that.
Yet Evan had never once considered letting her go.
That was what Amos found most surprising.
“Blame her?” Evan asked. “What right do I have?”
He drained the wine in his glass, irritation tightening his expression.
At that moment, he thought of the child he and Stella had lost.
If he had trusted her even a little back then, their child would be two years old by now.
But it was too late for regrets.
“Felix and Aaron are definitely going to fight you for her,” Amos said. “You’re really making things difficult for yourself.”
Amos was not particularly concerned about Felix.

Aaron, however, could be completely unhinged when provoked.
“Didn’t Aaron originally have no idea Felix was going to the Black Sea?”
Felix had initially made all the arrangements in secret.
So how had Aaron suddenly learned about it and agreed to let Stella go with him?
Amos had assumed Felix was acting behind Aaron’s back.
He had even considered telling Evan so they could exploit the situation and drive a wedge between them.
But now…
“Felix is cautious,” Evan said.
Whenever there was even the slightest possibility that something could be used against him, Felix considered every angle.
Once he had weighed all the risks and benefits, he inevitably chose whatever served him best.
“Having an opponent like that really is your curse,” Amos said.
Evan said nothing.
A curse?
Back in Harbor City, Felix might have been one.
But things were different now.
If Felix wanted to behave like a mad dog, Evan would do the same.
Then they would see who tore the other apart first.
For three full days, Seymour drove Stella toward the Black Sea.
Except for brief restroom stops, they were almost constantly on the road.
She did not have a single proper meal during the entire trip.
Seymour gave her only crackers, chocolate, and other packaged food.
Stella tried to escape several times along the way, but Seymour caught her every time.
That only deepened her resentment.
Evan had arrived two days before her.
Unlike Seymour, he had traveled by plane.

When Stella finally saw Evan again, only one thought crossed her mind.
Everything had changed.
They had not been apart for very long, yet both their worlds had become completely different.
The only thing that remained unchanged was the cold look Stella gave him.
“Seymour said you left Eirden without bringing anything,” Evan said. “I bought you what I could.”
“But they’re probably not the brands you usually use.”
Conditions in the Black Sea region were truly harsh.
He could not even find the skincare products Stella normally preferred.
Stella gave him a mocking look.
“You say that as though you know what I usually use.”
