Chapter 971
All for Felix and Aaron?
In the past, Stella probably would have stood firmly on their side.
But things were different now.
She had no intention of siding with either of them again.
“You don’t need to worry about me,” she told Remi. “I won’t reveal my location. At least not before that old man is dead.” I
Remi finally relaxed..
Her only concern had been that Stella might expose herself.
Not long after Remi left, Leon called.
Stella had no idea how he had gotten her number.
He had probably obtained it from Jennifer.
With so many of his men surrounding her, Jennifer could hardly guard against everything.
What a shame.
Had Leon put this much effort into suppressing the scandal, it would not have been raging through Harbor City for three straight days.
Stella answered.
“Hello?”
“Stella.”
He had not yet stated his purpose, so his tone remained respectful enough.
At least he still remembered to address her politely.
“I don’t think I deserve that much respect from you.”
“I want to know where Monique is.”
Jennifer did not have the resources to take Monique herself.
That meant the people who had taken her had to belong to Stella.
“Between you and Jennifer, who do you think I’s going to help?”
Instead of answering his question, Stella fired one back.
Leon’s breathing immediately grew heavier.
“Monique isn’t the person you think she is. She shouldn’t be used as an outlet for Jennifer’s anger.”
“You’re an outsider to this situation, so you should be able to see things more clearly. I hope you’ll talk some sense into her.”
“An outsider?”
Stella laughed mockingly.
“You’re right. I can see things very clearly.”

From the outside, it was naturally easier to see the truth.
And precisely because she sawit so clearly….
“That’s exactly why I’m helping Jennifer.”
“Then you clearly haven’t understood anything
Leon’s tone sharpened.
Stella raised an eyebrow.
“Oh?”
“Some things really aren’t what you think. Tell your people to release Monique first.”
“Leon, do you know something?” Stella asked. “You really are starting to sound like Evan.”
Leon went silent.
“Of all the people you could imitate, why him?”
“You said I don’t understand what’s happening? Jennifer has been dragged through the mud for three full days, and you still haven’t stopped it.”
That was what Stella saw.
“I don’t care why you’re marrying Monique, but Jennifer never deserved to be treated this way.”
“How do you expect her to live in Harbor City after this? Or were you never planning to let her live here with any dignity again?”
Only someone who truly hated her would destroy her reputation so completely that she could no longer show her face in the city.
“I’ll handle it,” Leon said.
“How?”
Stella’s voice turned cold.
“Everyone in Harbor City now believes Jennifer is the other woman. Unless you publicly clarify that Monique is the one who came between you, not Jennifer, what exactly are you planning to do?”
Leon said nothing
“Anything else you do now will be useless.”
Unless the blame was placed where it belonged, Jennifer’s reputation in Harbor City would never recover.
Leon remained silent.
Stella’s words were even sharper than Lucas’s had been.
“Either let my people take jennifer away, or release her yourself,” Stella said. “Otherwise…”
She deliberately paused.
“Otherwise, you may never see Monique again.”
“Stella!”
