Chapter 1052
Amos could not sympathize with Evan’s supposed concern for Yata at all.
After Amos left, Evan remained alone.
He took a heavy drag from his cigarette, the gloom between his brows refusing to fade.

The moment Amos returned to the villa, Ivy cornered him.
Seeing Ivy return alone, Amos asked, “How’s Stella?”
“How do you think she is?” Ivy shot back. “After what Evan just decided, do you really think she’ll want anything to do with him?”
Amos frowned. “What’s that supposed to mean? You sound like you’ve already written Evan off.”
“He’s the one who’s about to lose her,” Ivy said. “After this, Stella won’t want anyone associating her with him.”
Amos fell silent.
Now he understood.
Evan really had decided to exchange Stella for his sister.
“He actually made that decision?” Ivy asked in disbelief.
Stella had already told her as much.
But even now, Ivy found it difficult to believe.
She had seen how important Stella was to Evan.
How could a man who had nearly given his life for her still choose to sacrifice her?
When Stella had said she had won the bet, Ivy’s heart had ached for her.
She truly could not believe Evan had made that choice so easily.
“He even asked me to take Stella to Eirden,” Amos said. “What the hell was the thinking?”
Even the way Amos addressed Stella had changed.
Not because Evan no longer wanted her.
It was out of respect for Stella.
No woman in her position would want to keep being addressed by a title that tied her to a man she despised
“Don’t go,” Ivy said immediately
If Evan wanted to do something so despicable, he should have the nerve to do it himself
What kind of man made the decision and then sent someone else to carry it out?
Amos nodded.
“I didn’t agree.”
He was not an idiot.
Why would he ever agree to something like that?

“I genuinely don’t understand lilm,” Amos continued. “There are so many other options. Why choose the one that makes everyone lose respect for him?”
It was a contemptible decision.
Yara’s condition might be urgent, but that did not justify sacrificing another person to save her.
Besides, Amos had once considered handing Stella over to Litt.
Did Evan really feel comfortable sending her back now?
Aaron was so desperate to force Stella back to Eirden that he was almost certainly planning something.
No matter how Amos looked at it, Stella could not be allowed to return to Eirden right now.
Evan knew that too.
So how had the idea of trading her even entered his mind?
Worse, he had already made the decision.
Amos truly did not know what to say about him anymore.
“Maybe you should go after all,” Ivy said.
Amos stared at her.
“What?”
He immediately grew anxious.
“Sweetheart, I’m not that kind of man.”
Was she testing him?
There was no need.
He really was not that kind of person.
They had been together for so many years. Surely she knew him better than hat.
Amos watched Ivy nervously.
She rolled her eyes.
“What are you imagining? Do you really think I’d suspect you of that?”
She could tell exactly what he was thinking
Why would she need to test him over Stella?
If Amos had been that kind of man, the countless trials they had faced in their own relationship would have exposed him long,
ago.
“Then what did you mean?” Amos asked
