Chapter 1279
The moment Stella got into the car, Aaron called again.
She still didn’t feel like answering.
This time, however, Aaron called Russ instead.
“Put Stella on.”
Russ replied calmly,
“Mr. Hogarth, Miss Rowan doesn’t want to…”
“I only need to say two things to her.”
“But Miss Rowan doesn’t want to say even one thing to you.”
Hearing that, Stella’s lips curved in satisfaction.
Aaron, on the other end of the line, nearly exploded.
Stella really was something now.
If she didn’t feel like answering his calls, she simply didn’t.
Even when they were under the same roof, she could ignore him completely.
This was no longer just anger over what had happened before.
At this point, she genuinely looked like she had no intention of acknowledging him as her brother anymore.
Aaron’s chest rose and fell with irritation.
“Give her the phone!”
“I’m sorry but I can’t.”
Stella finally spoke.
“Give it to me.”
She was a little curious.
Jane Merlin was still there with him, so why was Aaron suddenly so determined to talk to her?
Still, she had to admit one thing.
Uncle Russ was great.
Apparently, from now on, whenever Stella didn’t feel like dealing with Aaron, she really could just ignore him.
Russ handed her the phone.
Stella put it to her ear.
“What do you want?”
Aaron’s voice came through immediately.
“So you really don’t want me as your brother anymore?”
“Yes.”
Stella answered without hesitation.
Before Aaron could respond, she continued, 1
“I shouldn’t have to remind you, should I? You sent all those people looking for me this time. Was it really only because you wanted to bring me home?”
Aaron’s voice hardened.
“What exactly are you implying? You think I’d do something to you?”
He was furious.
What kind of suspicion was that?
Was she seriously lumping him together with Evan?
Yes, Aaron knew he could be an asshole.
But Stella was still his biological sister.
There were some lines even he knew he could never cross.
Stella replied coolly,
“After everything you did before, isn’t it perfectly reasonable for me to doubt you?”
Aaron fell silent.
He had already been angry.
Now he was practically livid.
Could her suspicions get any more ridiculous?
Stella continued,
“You didn’t call just to argue with me about something this pointless, did you?”
Jane was still there, after all.
Aaron finally got to the point.
“Evan is in Eirden. Did you know?”
“I know.”
So what if Evan was here?
Why was Aaron calling her specifically to tell her that?
Stella genuinely didn’t understand.
“Yara was injured yesterday because Father ordered it.”
“So?”
“If Father finds out Evan is in Eirden, he definitely won’t let him off.”
Stella went quiet.
Michael going after Evan?
She honestly hadn’t thought about that before.
But now that Aaron had brought it up…
Stella drew a slow breath.
“So what are you asking me to do? Protect him?”
There was obvious mockery in her voice.
If that was really what Aaron wanted, then Stella truly didn’t know what to say about him.
“Stella, I know you don’t have any feelings left for him.”
Aaron paused.
“But don’t let Father go after him.”
Aaron wasn’t worried that Stella herself would do anything to Evan.
What worried him was that if Stella said the wrong thing in front of Michael, Michael’s temper might genuinely
cost Evan his life.
Stella let out a soft laugh.
“So what you’re saying is that Yara was hurt that badly yesterday because I said something to Father?”
