Chapter 854
Thorne murmured in agreement.
After Tiffany finished expressing her awe, she fell silent for a long moment before changing the subject.
After dinner, Terence took a seat next to Thorne.
He had already caught wind of everything that went down at Dr. Lucas’s gala.
Though he’d always heard rumors that Thorne had someone else in his heart, it wasn’t until the gala that he realized that woman was CC-the race car driver he’d worshipped like a goddess.
When the truth finally clicked, it made sense why Thorne had flat-out refused to get him an autographed photo of Vesta to hang in his room.
Glancing at him, Thorne asked, “What’s on your mind?”
Terence hesitated for a second. “Thorne, I honestly think Charlene is great.”
While he used to be a massive fan of CC, finding out that she and her family were the ones who had deeply hurt Charlene and the Ross family instantly killed any admiration he had for her.
Besides, even without all the drama, he preferred Charlene over Vesta anyway.
So, the very night he read the news online, he deleted all of Vesta’s contact info and trashed the autographed photos.
Thorne gave him a look. “Is that so?”
“Yeah,” Terence couldn’t help but add. “I think you and Charlene are the perfect match.”
Thorne offered a faint smile but didn’t reply.
Knowing his brother hated people prying into his personal life, Terence took the hint and let it drop.
Just as Terence was about to leave, Thorne suddenly asked, “Starting school soon?”
“Oh, yeah.”
“You did well on your exams. Is there any gift you want?”
“Ah, no need-“
“I heard you got your driver’s license. How about a car? Pick one of those models you posted on social media recently.”
Terence’s eyes lit up. Any thought of refusing vanished instantly. He jumped up and bolted toward the stairs “I’m going to grab my phone and send you the pictures right now! Thanks, Thorne!”
The two brothers rarely chatted like this. Claudia, who had been
watching, stared at Terence’s
retreating back and couldn’t help but ask What was that about? Why is he suddenly so excited?”
“It’s nothing,” Thorne replied dismissively.
That night, Thorne and Jasmine stayed over at the family estate. They finally left together after breakfast the next morning.
As the car drove away from the estate, Thorne glanced at Jasmine, who was sitting silently beside him ignoring him “School stärts in a days. you don’t bring up the Opening Ceremony now and wait another couple of days, your mom might not have the time to go.”
Jasmine pressed her lips together. After a long moment, she finally looked over at
him. “Is Mom… going to be really busy?”
“She is always busy.”
Jasmine paused and fell silent again.
Thorne dropped her off at home. As she stepped out of the car, he watched her
back and said, “I’ll be home late tonight. Go to bed early.”
Jasmine pretended not to hear and walked straight upstairs.
Thorne didn’t mind. He instructed the driver to pull away, and the car quickly left the driveway.
Once upstairs, Jasmine picked up her phone. She found Charlene’s number and, after hesitating for a long while, couldn’t resist calling her.
Charlene was just about to head out.
Seeing the caller ID, she answered right away. “Minnie?”
Relieved that she picked up, Jasmine asked, “Mom, my school starts on the first. Do you have time to come to my Opening Ceremony?”
