Chapter 829
Maureen and Henley remained dead silent as the whispers swirled around them, as did Dalton, Corinne, and Raleigh.
They were still trapped in a state of paralyzing shock.
Suddenly, someone in the crowd voiced a realization. “Wait, I remember hearing ages ago that PrimeStar was co-founded by two of Dr. Wagner’s students. If Director Ross is the other founder, does that mean she’s also—”
Maureen, Henley, Raleigh, Corinne, Dalton, and Moran all heard the remark.
Jolted back to reality, they snapped their heads toward Stewart and Charlene. Even Dr. Lucas looked entirely caught off guard.
Someone hurriedly asked, “Mr. Ferguson, is that true? Is Director Ross really Dr. Wagner’s student as well?”
Under the intense scrutiny of the crowd, Stewart flashed a confident smile. “That’s correct, Mr. Sanderson. In addition to being my business partner, Charlene is my junior under Dr. Wagner.”
Another collective gasp rippled through the ballroom.
One guest couldn’t contain their realization. “No wonder! Every time Dr. Wagner had a gathering, Charlene would attend with Mr. Ferguson. And at the National Tech Awards Gala, Dr. Wagner personally showed up to present her with the trophy. We all thought he just adored her as a brilliant student’s wife, but it turns out…”
Breaking through his initial shock, Dalton finally realized the same thing.
Kelvin swallowed hard, suddenly piecing a puzzle together. He turned to Dalton and whispered, “So… your dad must have known this inside scoop early on?”
Dalton was too stunned to speak.
But he knew the answer had to be yes. Why else would his parents have been so deeply fond of Charlene and practically worshipped the ground she walked on?
Hearing the confirmation, Maureen clenched her fists so hard her knuckles turned white, slowly squeezing her eyes shut.
Henley stared at Charlene in a terrifying daze.
Leah and Rhoda still refused to accept reality.
How could Charlene be a founder of PrimeStar and Dr. Wagner’s prized student?
What gave her the right to have it all?
But Stewart wasn’t done dropping bombs.
“Charlene created PrimeStar’s core programming language shortly after she became my junior,” he explained smoothly. “Later… she stepped away from the industry to get married and have a child, dedicating her time to her family. It wasn’t until the year before last that she officially returned to the company.”
The crowd quieted down instantly to hang on his every word.
“Everyone here has seen PrimeStar’s explosive growth over the past two years. Before, people gave me all the credit, but…”
He didn’t even need to finish the sentence; the crowd understood the implication immediately, letting out another chorus of impressed murmurs.
“Charlene led PrimeStar to the staggering heights we see today almost immediately upon her return. I’m sure most of you in the indust are aware of the jaw dropping technological innovations we’ve rotted out since then.”
Stewart paused, a proud smile gracing his features. “So, I believe everyone here
has a pretty clear picture of exactly how capable my junior is.”
Laymen might not have grasped the full magnitude, but the tech insiders were thoroughly intimidated by the sheer prowess of Charlene and Stewart.
To elevate PrimeStar into a world-class powerhouse on a global scale in such a
short timeframe required an unfathomable level of expertise.
To achieve that, Charlene and
Stewart’s mastery in mathematics, algorithms, hardware optimization, engineering efficiency, and team leadership had to be nothing short of absolute perfection.
