Chapter 810
Vesta, Thorne, and Corinne had already made their way near the stage, standing not far from Charlene and Stewart.
Vesta just hadn’t found the right moment to interject.
Hearing everything unfold, she hurriedly spoke up. “Raleigh—”
Only then did Raleigh look toward Vesta’s direction.
When he saw her, his expression instantly softened.
However, when his gaze shifted to Thorne beside her, his eyes discreetly turned icy
once more.
Seeing Vesta trying to speak, he assumed she didn’t want the matter exposed in such a setting, given that this was Dr. Lucas’s event.
But…
He just felt bad for her.
He felt incredibly bad for her.
Because she had no idea that if he didn’t stand up for her, no one would genuinely fight for her justice!
The more he thought about it, the more resolute his gaze became.
He shot Vesta a look, signaling her to stay quiet and let him handle everything.
Vesta naturally had no intention of listening to him, but just as she tried to speak again, Corinne stopped her.
Corinne lowered her voice. “Vesta, let Raleigh keep going for now. I don’t think this is a bad thing.”
She then turned to Thorne. “Right, Thorne?”
Even if Charlene and Stewart retaliated by exposing Charlene and Thorne’s past, it would only show that Charlene had used dirty tricks to marry Thorne.
So, even if they aired all their dirty laundry, Vesta wouldn’t necessarily be the one to suffer.
Vesta looked absolutely sick.
Before Thorne could answer Corinne, Raleigh spoke again, not even giving Stewart
a chance to defend himself.
“Come to think of it, if you were truly
the person thought you were-someone pure, who values fairness and talent-you wouldn’t have let someone steal my junior’s chance to join PrimeStar. And you certainly wouldn’t have indulged her repeatedly sabotaging my junior’s chances of becoming Dr. Wagner’s student, right?”
“But since you claim to have a clear conscience, I’m curious. Do you dare tell Dr. Wagner the truth about how a certain someone joined PrimeStar?”
He then turned to Charlene. “Stealing someone else’s opportunity to get into PrimeStar, then tripping them up so they couldn’t become Mr. Wagner’s student all so you could monopolize the benefits Stewart and Mr. Wagner bring you. Now that
you’ve got the spotlight, with everyone praising you at these
galas, are you happy?”
“Stealing opportunities time and time again, robbing someone of the life that was rightfully theirs—when you wake up in the dead of night, do you really not have nightmares?”
His words caused another uproar.
The crowd was utterly stunned.
So, not only did Charlene use underhanded methods to enter PrimeStar, but she
also sabotaged Vesta’s chance to become Dr. Wagner’s student?
That way, Dr. Wagner wouldn’t find out how she got into the company, and she could
hoard all the support from both Stewart and Dr. Wagner?
If all of this was true, Charlene was incredibly manipulative.
Dr. Lucas and his assistant were equally shocked.
They had no idea there was such a twisted backstory.
Everyone’s eyes darted toward Charlene and Stewart in the audience.
Despite everything Raleigh had just unloaded, Charlene and Stewart remained completely unfazed.
When it was all over, Stewart
chuckled. He glanced over at Vesta’s
direction before looking up at
Raleigh on the stage Is that what she told you? Did she say we were the ones who sabotaged her chances of becoming my mentor’s student?”
