Chapter 507

Thorne didn’t hesitate for a second. “Get in touch with them and let them know we’ll head over tomorrow instead.”
Josh looked like he wanted to say something, but Thorne had already turned his attention back to Vesta. Whatever Josh was about to say died on his lips.
He nodded, and as he was about to step outside the hospital room to make the call, Thorne seemed to remember something. He glanced over and added, “Have Coy handle those urgent files. I’ll get in touch with him later about the details.”
“Yes, sir,” Josh replied.
Once outside, Josh followed Thorne’s instructions and called Coy first.
“Alright, got it,” Coy said. He didn’t hang up immediately, though; instead, he couldn’t help but add, “The boss has been paying more and more attention to Charlene lately. Today, too… Honestly, I thought Mr. Henderson had feelings for Charlene
Josh knew exactly what he was hinting at.
Truth be told, he’d thought the same.
But seeing how anxious Thorne was about Vesta today made him realize he’d been overthinking it.
Maybe Thorne’s attitude toward Charlene had shifted a bit, but the one he truly cared for-truly loved-was still Vesta.
By the time Vesta woke up, it was already past four thirty in the afternoon.
As soon as she opened her eyes and saw Thorne beside her, a smile spread across her face. “Didn’t you have a business trip this afternoon? What happened?”
Leah jumped in, eager to answer. “He postponed it till tomorrow because he was worried about you.”
She grinned and added, “And he’s been here with us at the hospital the whole time, waiting for you to wake up.”
Hearing that, a warm happiness bubbled up inside Vesta, and she couldn’t help but laugh.
Still, she looked at Thorne, thoughtful. “I’m feeling much better now. Why don’t you head back to work?”
Thorne shook his head. “It can wait.”
Seeing how insistent he was about staying, Leah and Georgina exchanged amused glances, teasing Vesta with their eyes.
After the doctor examined Vesta again, the test results came back that same evening.

The wound on Vesta’s head wasn’t serious, but she’d still need to stay in the hospital for a few days to recover.
That night, Moran arrived at the hospital with an armful of flowers and a basket of fruit.
“Granger had an emergency at work, so he couldn’t make it. He asked me to bring you this fruit basket instead.”
At that, the smile in Vesta’s eyes faded, and her voice went quiet. “Is that so? Thank you for bringing it.”
Vesta reacted this way because she

Maureen and Georgina felt Granger’s “emergency” was just an excuse.
But they had no idea Granger had developed feelings for Charlene, and that was why he was keeping his distance from Vesta.
They simply assumed Granger was avoiding Leah.

The next morning.
Charlene arrived at the hospital to visit Irma.
She’d just stepped out of the parking garage when she spotted Leah and Maureen.
Thorne hadn’t just postponed his trip for Vesta yesterday—he’d stayed at the hospital with her for hours.
Knowing how much Thorne cared for Vesta, everyone in the Spencer family was in high spirits. Thɪs chapter is updated by
When Leah saw Charlene, she lifted
her chin and, with a pointed huff, made sure her voice carried. “Auntie, when my sister had her sister had her accident yesterday, my brother-in-law dropped everything and rushed straight to the hospital. He’s postponed his business trip again and again for her. And this morning, he said he wouldn’t leave for his trip until he checked on her one last time.”
