After dinner with Thorne and Jasmine, Charlene went straight home. That evening, Jasmine called again, but this time she used the Ross family’s landline. Helena answered.
Upon hearing Jasmine’s request, Helena beamed. “Minnie wants to go camping? Oh, your mom is free! You can come over tomorrow morning, dear p>
Charlene, who had just come downstairs, frowned when she overheard the conversation. After hanging up, Helena patted her hand sagely. “Minnie is your daughter. It’s never a mistake to spend more time with her p>
Meanwhile, shortly after Jasmine’s call ended, Vesta called Thorne.
When he told her he was taking Charlene and Jasmine camping the next day, she paused. “Thorne, can’t you go another time? I was hoping you could go somewhere with me tomorrow p>

He had just seen Charlene and Jasmine today. Did Jasmine really need to see her mother again so soon? And was it truly Jasmine’s idea, or was he just using her as an excuse? Vesta didn’t voice these thoughts.

The next day when Jasmine arrived at the Ross residence, Charlene stopped short yet again when she saw Thorne in the car. Seeing him yesterday had been a surprise;

him for the second day in a row was just as unexpected. But since Helena had already agreed on her behalf, she couldn’t back down.
She got in the car.
The campsite had already been chosen by Thorne and Jasmine. On the way there, Jasmine once again monopolized the conversation with Charlene, while Thorne
occasionally added a comment but otherwise remained quiet.
When they arrived, they took a walk

Thorne glanced at the instructions first, then handed them to Charlene. She took them, and Jasmine leaned in to look with her.

With just the three of them, Charlene had no choice but to help. Jasmine’s memory was sharp, and she correctly identified nearly every part Thorne and Charlene needed. Thorne praised her each time she got one right and Jasmine though she was running around, was beaming and didn’t seem tired at all. Following the instructions, they had the tent up in no time.
