Chapter 881
With it being Thanksgiving Day, the Ross family had scheduled a visit to the hospital to check on Sybil.
After fielding a few more calls, Charlene gathered with the rest of her family and headed over to the medical facility.
Sybil’s condition hadn’t shown any noticeable improvement. As usual, the family was restricted to watching her from a safe distance near the doorway.
Once their visit concluded, they handed their holiday gifts over to the nursing staff and made their way back home.
The moment they walked through the front door, the housekeeper informed Charlene that another holiday delivery had arrived.
Charlene walked into the lounge to find four or5 exquisite boxes sitting perfectly on the coffee table. Even a quick glance at the luxury packaging made it painfully obvious these weren’t standard holiday fruit baskets or basic pastries.
“Who dropped these off?” she asked.
“I was told they came directly from Jasmine’s father,” the housekeeper replied. Charlene froze for a split second.
Helena and the others exchanged surprised glances before their expressions swiftly soured into frowns.
Without a word, Charlene stepped over to the table and flipped the lid off one of the boxes.
Thorne hadn’t just sent a premium box of Mooncakes. He had also included priceless Antiques and Artwork, alongside incredibly rare Aged Ginseng.
For a simple holiday gesture, Thorne was throwing around an unbelievable amount of money.
Tucked inside the main display was a sleek card that read simply: *Happy Thanksgiving Day.*
Charlene tossed the card aside, pulled out her phone, and fired off a text to Thorne: *I saw the gifts. Are these a ‘thank you’?*
She was referring, of course, to her discretion. When the scandal surrounding him and Vesta had exploded in the press, she hadn’t immediately poured fuel on the fire by demanding an immediate divorce.
Only seconds passed before Thorne’s reply lit up her screen.
Thorne: *Yes.*
Charlene stared at the confirmation and quickly typed back: *Since they’re a thank you, I’ll accept them.*
In reality, her silence on the divorce front was strictly out of respect for the longstanding ties between their two families.
She quickly drafted a follow-up text: *One month from now, we’ll finalize the paperwork at city hall.*
His response was just as swift: *Understood.*
Charlene locked her screen and set her phone down.
Thorne didn’t attempt to continue the conversation.
Helena finally broke the silence in the room. “Well? Why the sudden extravagant delivery? Did something happen?”
“It’s nothing. Everything is clear now,” Charlene assured her.
Helena visibly relaxed. “Good.”
…
Meanwhile.
For the Hawkins family and the Spencers, this Thanksgiving Day was turning out to be a devastatingly bleak affair.
Exactly a year ago, they had been swamped with guests and lavish gifts, all eager
to curry favor due to Vesta’s connection with Thorne.
But today? Not a single person had come knocking.
The atmosphère in the Hawkins estate was entirely devoid of any festive cheer. Even with the two onge powerful families gathered together under one roof the
sprawling living room felt
suffocatingly empty and silent.
Throughout the day, Vesta had tried calling and texting Thorne multiple times.
Exactly like the days prior, she received absolute silence in return.
Watching her pace around the
house instead of heading out, the rest of the family quickly deduced the harsh reality-Thorne had officially frozen her out.
The court date for the massive lawsuit Axiom Flux Technologies had filed against
Hawkins Technology was creeping closer by the day…
Jacques had also returned home for the holiday.

He was well aware of the catastrophic damage both Neural Nexus Tech and the family business had suffered. He knew that their only chance at survival hinged entirely Thorne’s intervention. Yet, it was painfully clear that Thorne was under immense pressure to wash his hands of them completely.
