Chapter 1175
“Can we just stop bringing that up from now on?” Leon asked helplessly.
It had only happened once, and Jennifer was already holding such a grudge over it.
That alone showed just how badly Evan must have hurt Stella when it came to Summer.
And for Stella, it hadn’t happened only once.
It had happened again and again.
No wonder she could never forgive Evan.
After being hurt that deeply, how could she?
“I know I screwed up before,” Leon said. “I grew up with Monique. I thought I knew exactly what kind of person she was.”
“Who knew she was so good at pretending?”
Even now, thinking about how fake Monique had been still left a bad taste in Leon’s mouth.
Especially when he remembered that she had secretly had feelings for him all along while pretending they were nothing more than buddies.
The way she had gotten close to him made his skin crawl.
He hated people who put on an act more than anything.
Jennifer huffed.
“Don’t think saying that means I’ve forgiven you.‘
Leon laughed.
She could say she hadn’t forgiven him all she wanted.
The fact that she could talk to him like this already meant she was halfway there.
As for the other half…
Well, women could hold grudges.
He would just have to take his time.
News that Leon had run away with Jennifer eventually reached Evan too.
Evan was still in terrible shape.
He still hadn’t recovered from the deaths of Stella and Felix.
In just a short time, he had lost even more weight.
He had practically destroyed himself.

Amas couldn’t help feeling a little sorry for him.
“She’s gone. What are you doing this to yourself for?”
Amos had never been good at comforting people.
As far as he was concerned, if someone truly mattered to you, you should treasure them while they were still there.
You shouldn’t wait until you had lost them to realize how important they were.
And Evan was the perfect example of someone who only understood what he had after it was gone.
Evan closed his eyes.
He had no intention of responding.
Just as he reached for the bottle again, Amos snatched it away.
“Can you stop drinking? Even if you drink yourself to death, she’s not coming back.”
Evan gave a bitter laugh.
“Good. Then maybe I can go be with her.”
Amos went silent.
At that point, he almost wanted to tell Evan that if he was so determined to die, he might as well get it over with instead of dragging this out.
But he kept the thought to himself.
The last thing he wanted was to push Evan over the edge.
Not that Evan seemed particularly interested in living anyway.
Evan stared blankly ahead.
“Leon gave up everything for Jennifer. Why couldn’t I do that?”
His voice was filled with bitterness.
Why hadn’t he?
Leon had actually walked away from the entire Redson family for Jennifer.
He had even abandoned Redson Corporation without hesitation.
Looking at it now…
Evan had done worse than Leon.
Amos shrugged.
“Maybe you just didn’t love Stella as much as Leon loves Jennifer.”
Evan stiffened.

Didn’t love her as much?
How could that possibly be true?
“No,” he said hoarsely. “I didn’t love her any less.”
“Then why could he walk away from everything when you couldn’t?”
Evan fell silent.
Amos looked at him.
“Honestly, the way I see it now, you weren’t even as good as Felix.”
Evan’s gaze snapped toward him.
“Felix?”
“Either way, he gave up everything in the end. Now he’s with her.”
Evan’s chest jolted violently.
He stared at Amos, barely breathing.
“You mean Felix…”
“His accident probably had something to do with Stella too.”
Maybe he had been distracted.
“Either way, he gave up everything in the end. Now he’s with her.”
Evan said nothing.
No matter how it had happened, Felix had left everything behind too.
In the end, he had gone with Stella.
