Chapter 1205
Eirden was home to two dominant families: the Hogarths and the Clydes.
If those two families truly went to war, the fallout would be enormous.
And both families knew it.
That was why, no matter how serious their conflicts had become over the years, they had always maintained at least a surface-level peace.
So why had everything suddenly exploded now?
“What happened?” Ivy asked, swallowing hard.
Amos shook his head.
“I don’t know. All I know is Aaron is going after the Clyde family hard.”
Ivy fell silent.
Hard?
Wasn’t Evan supposed to be the one Aaron wanted to destroy right now?
How had his target suddenly become the Clydes?
Ivy sucked in a breath.
“Aaron is getting harder and harder to understand.”
Even the direction of his madness had changed.
Amos frowned.
“Maybe it has something to do with what happened back then.”
Ivy looked at him in surprise.
“Well, look at you. You actually had a smart thought for once.”
If Aaron was willing to leave Evan alone and turn on the Clydes instead, there was a good chance this had something to do with the past.
And when she thought about it, that did make sense.
Michael Hogarth had been highly sought after when he was young.
And one of the women who had wanted him had come from the Clyde family.
Ivy’s expression changed.
“You mean Aaron’s mother’s death might have something to do with the Clydes?”
“Probably.”

Judging from Aaron’s reaction now, Amos thought the odds were very high.
Ivy exhaled slowly.
“Then things are really about to spiral out of control.”
At the same time, Felix received the news too.
He had also assumed that once Evan reached Eirden, he and Aaron would tear each other apart.
And Aaron certainly wouldn’t let Evan walk away alive.
But in the end, all of their predictions were wrong.
Aaron and Evan hadn’t clashed at all.
Instead, Aaron had suddenly gone to war with the Clyde family.
Stella’s own people had also passed the news to her.
When she heard it, she remained silent.
The weather was beautiful that day.
The sun was warm too.
Stella had someone bring a lounge chair outside so she could sit in the sun.
The warmth felt comfortable against her skin.
Felix replaced the blanket over her legs with a thinner one.
“You don’t need to.”
“Keep it on. You’re still not fully recovered. You can’t afford to catch a cold.”
Stella fell silent again.
That was how she had been lately.
She spoke less and less.
She answered when necessary.
Most of the time, she simply didn’t want to talk.
Felix sat beside her.
“News came in from Eirden.”
“I know.”
Felix paused.

“You know?”
Stella looked at him.
“Felix, I’ve never been some helpless little flower. You know that.”
Felix said nothing.
He did know.
That was exactly why he had always remained wary of her.
Always afraid that one day she would simply disappear.
Her people were still scattered in the shadows.
No matter how hard Felix tried, there was no way he could uncover every last one of them.
“What do you think happened?” he asked.
He meant why Evan and Aaron hadn’t ended up fighting.
And why Aaron’s fury had suddenly shifted toward the Clyde family instead.
It was a turn none of them had expected.
Stella frowned.
Why?
For once, the question genuinely stumped her.
The change was too sudden and too drastic for her to draw any firm conclusion yet.
But she had already ordered her people to investigate.
Felix watched her fall silent.
Just as he was about to say something else, Stella’s phone rang.
She answered it right in front of him.
“Talk.”
“Miss, we found out what happened.”
Stella’s expression sharpened.
“Why?”
