Yara grew more anxious by the second.
She had originally planned to urge Evan to leave Eirden before anything happened.
But now…
“What are you going to do?” she asked nervously.
Michael had completely cut off Evan’s way out of Eirden.
It was obvious he had no intention of letting Evan leave alive.
“I’m hanging up,” Evan said.
“Evan!”
The moment Yara heard that he was about to hang up, she panicked even more.
“Find a way to get out. Whatever you do, don’t let his people find
Evan hung up anyway.
Yara sat there listening to the dead line.
All she could think about was what Zane had just said.
Evan was trapped in Eirden now.
He couldn’t leave even if he wanted to.
Her panic completely took over.
She immediately called Aaron again.
This time, he answered.
“You’re still awake?”
His voice sounded tired.
Yara swallowed.
“You’re not coming tonight?”
Aaron went quiet.

Her question caught him off guard.
Was she actually asking him to come?
Yara had never taken the initiative with him before.
If anything, she had spent all this time trying to get away from him.

“What happened?” Aaron asked immediately.
He knew Yara too well.
If she was acting this differently, something was wrong.
The moment he asked, Yara burst into tears.
“Yara.”
Aaron’s voice sharpened.
“Your father trapped Evan in Eirden. Even if he wants to leave now, he can’t.”
By the time she finished, she was sobbing uncontrollably.
“Aaron, Evan is all I have left.”
Her voice broke.
“Everyone else in the Wright family is gone because of you and Stella. Does Evan have to die too?”
Aaron fell silent.
The moment he heard that Michael had sealed off Evan’s escape, a headache started pounding behind his
temples.
So Michael had moved against Evan after all.
“I don’t know what Stella said to your father,” Yara choked out. “But if anything happens to Evan…”
She couldn’t finish.
Her sobs carried clearly through the phone.
“I know,” Aaron said. “I’ll handle it.”
“Please. Evan can’t die. I’m begging you…”
Yara was crying so hard she could barely breathe.
She didn’t dare imagine what would happen to her if Evan died too.
If that happened, she would truly be the only Wright left.
“Don’t worry,” Aaron said. “Nothing will happen to your brother.”
Then he ended the call.
Stella’s phone had already switched into Sleep mode.

She had gone straight to sleep.
What she didn’t know was that Aaron and Yara spent the entire night desperately trying to reach her.
They both believed Stella must have said something to Michael.
That had to be why Michael was now going after Evan.
And yes, going after him was exactly what Michael intended to do.
There was no question that everything he was doing now was meant to settle the score for Stella.
Eventually, Aaron even called Felix.
At an estate elsewhere in Eirden, Felix had just picked up a glass of red wine when Aaron’s call came through.
He answered.
“Hello.”
Felix’s attitude toward Aaron had become noticeably distant lately.
“Can you reach Stella?” Aaron asked.
“She should be asleep by now,” Felix replied calmly.
As he spoke, he glanced instinctively at the watch on his wrist.
It was already past eleven at night.
