“Healy, you really are here!” The woman’s face lit up, and she hurried over to sit beside him.
Healy stiffened slightly. “What are you doing here? I thought you were at your parents’ house.”
“I just had dinner with them. I got bored and wanted to see you, but you weren’t answering your texts. Your driver told me you were here, so I just came over,” Gia Vance replied.
Her voice was incredibly soft and cloying.
As she spoke, she naturally leaned her body into Healy’s.
It was obvious she was wildly, physically attracted to him.
Jude felt incredibly uncomfortable watching them.
It wasn’t just because he was single-it was because Healy’s fiancée looked way too much like Noreen.
From certain angles, the resemblance was downright eerie.
Even her name sounded similar.
Noreen Gilmore.
Gia Vance.
Just a few letters off.
While Jude was having an internal crisis, he nervously glanced at the man lying motionless on the couch.
He prayed to God that Seth wouldn’t get up for the rest of the night.
But the universe hated him.
The moment Jude finished his prayer, Seth sat up.
Seth had been incredibly bored and was actually preparing to leave.
He tossed the magazine aside, stood up, and found himself staring dead at Healy and the woman clinging to his arm.
The room plunged into a suffocating, terrifying silence.
Jude’s heart stopped. He was frantically trying to think of a way to defuse the ticking time bomb when Seth finally spoke.
He looked dead at Healy. “Step outside.”

Jude’s soul left his body. They were doomed.
Healy sighed heavily and stood up.
“Where are you going?” Gia asked, clinging to him.

Healy followed Seth out to the club’s open-air courtyard.

Healy was seeing stars. “Alright, that’s enough! I let you have those two, but if you hit me again, I’m fighting back!”
His jaw felt like it was unhinged.
The last time he had been hit this hard, it had also been by Seth.
Seth’s eyes were completely feral. He drew his fist back again.
So, Healy fought back.
The commotion was so loud that by the time Jude and Dylan ran outside, both men were bloodied and bruised.
Gia ran out screaming. She threw herself over Healy, shielding him

Seth gave Gia a look of pure disgust, picked his jacket up off the ground, and
walked away into the night.
Jude hurried after him.
Before he could take three steps, Seth’s voice sliced through the air.

After dinner, Noreen and Claire had gone out for karaoke and partied until they were exhausted.
They were both tipsy, sharing a ride back to Noreen’s apartment.
Claire had rolled her window down to let the cool night air hit her face.
As they pulled up to Noreen’s complex, Claire suddenly pointed excitedly at a figure slumped on the curb.
