Gerry was a sharp man.
As soon as Bianca entered, he didn’t say another word about what they were just discussing, instead shifting to the crisis Ascendancy Group was facing.
“Filing for bankruptcy directly will be a huge loss for the company, and the shareholders are strongly against it. I do have a suggestion, however, that might mitigate some of the damages.”
Bianca was even more desperate than Seth. “What is it?”
Filing for bankruptcy would have a devastating impact on her.
Not only would it solidify the rumors about her being a jinx and damage her relationship with Seth, but it would also drag down PerseTech.

Three hundred million! Just the thought of it sent a chill down her spine.
Gerry paused before speaking. “We could package Ascendancy Group’s technology and resources and sell them to Centribo. The only question is whether Centribo would be willing to acquire us?”
After saying this, he gave Seth a meaningful look. “Given your history with Ms. Gilmore, perhaps she’d be willing to negotiate with you.”
Bianca’s expression instantly stiffened.
At this critical juncture, she didn’t want Seth and Noreen to have any contact.
Seth refused in a cool, level tone. “No. Ms. Gilmore is someone who keeps business and personal matters separate.”
He glanced at Gerry. “Besides, Ms. Gilmore isn’t fond of me.”
Gerry could only offer a weak smile. “It seems bankruptcy is the only option left for Ascendancy Group, then.”
Bianca’s hands, resting on her lap, clenched into fists unconsciously.
Claire was waiting on set, bored, so she started chatting with Noreen.
She used her usual opening line.
“Has that jerk Seth gone bankrupt yet today?”
Noreen, despite being busy, took a moment to reply, “Not yet, I don’t think.”
Claire sent a sticker of profound disappointment.

She glanced at the time, about to call Sophia on the intercom to schedule a department meeting.
Suddenly, Sophia burst into the office without even knocking.
Noreen was about to reprimand her when Sophia blurted out anxiously, “Ms. Gilmore, you have a visitor.”
“It’s Bianca.”

Sophia was tense, as if preparing for battle. “What could she possibly want? She must be up to no good!”
