The official statement from Veyo Solutions read, “Veyo Solutions is committed to uncovering the truth. We will not allow the hard work of our engineers and technicians to be plagiarized.
“We will apply to the Patent Trial and Appeal Board to invalidate Faye Technologies‘ patent for the flight control system. If evidence confirms our claims, we will pursue full legal responsibility.”
This statement had practically nailed Faye Technologies to the wall of shame.
It made it seem as if the case were already closed, and it was more than enough to sway the public’s opinion.
Janice exploded. “They’re acting like we stole some revolutionary, game–changing tech! That code isn’t even theirs! That was Ari’s! Do they seriously believe their own lies? What a joke!”
However, the truth was that partial overlap was still overlap, and that alone could jeopardize the patent rights.
“They sure wasted no time, didn’t they?” Chad sneered. “I guess Nancy has been holding a grudge ever since we refused to sell them the patent. Now she’s trying to get it revoked to get back at us.”
After some thought, Ariel said in confusion, “We do need to find evidence, but what puzzles me more is how they got hold of my base code.”
Because she was certain that the version in Terrance’s inbox was something she had written. But now, emails had an earlier timestamp than hers. That was almost impossible to refute.

“We never said we wouldn’t handle this issue, but Nancy went and posted a statement like that. Isn’t she controlling the narrative? She couldn’t wait to put a label on us!”
Janice was fuming. “We’ve already gotten calls from partners, hinting that they’re worried continued collaboration might affect their projects.”
“It’s not unreasonable for them to be cautious. We need to buy some time. I’ll figure something out,” Ariel said thoughtfully.
What she needed was solid, irrefutable proof that would render the so–called email evidence completely invalid.
Later that afternoon, Chad brought more news. “Veyo just launched a new system. They’re already in talks with multiple companies for follow–up collaborations.”
Ariel looked up, clearly surprised.

Chad didn’t think it was anything remarkable that they managed to build a system. What did get under his skin was that Jayson was the one backing and helping them.
He might as well have handed her a loaded gun and pointed it straight at Faye Technologies.
