“After hearing that big news, I had someone keep tabs on Jayson’s moves.” Cecilia raised an eyebrow. “I have the means to dig into Sarah’s past, and I discovered that she studied at Halread University back then. And on the same day, I received word that Jayson’s assistant had flown there specially.
“No clue what they talked about, but I found out your mom has a painting in their collection. I could tell right away that the painting Nancy gave me bore traces of the one at Halread University. a pause, Cecilia continued, “I knew Jayson wanted to keep things quiet to protect that mother and daughter. Since I’m part of the art circle, and they even rented my venue for a grand exhibition, there was no way I could let this slide. So I went to verify everything.”
Ariel nodded slowly. “But what about Sarah’s gallery?”
Cecilia shrugged. “Tracking her moves since she came back was easy. Jayson’s shadow was all over it. I found out he bought her a gallery to keep her work. I was planning to look for more clues. When I went over, I happened to catch someone dusting off ‘Into Stillness.‘ How could I not recognize it was the pair to the one from Halread University?”

She finally exhaled slowly. “If Sarah hadn’t organized such a big show, this wouldn’t have gained so much attention.”
