Cecilia was completely shattered by what was happening. She couldn’t wrap her head around it. How could someone like her end up in a place like this?

She clutched Samson’s sleeve through the bars. Her eyes rimmed red as she asked, “You must have thought of something, right? Samson, you know me. I can’t survive in a place like that! It’s torture! And three years of it? No way I’ll survive that!”
Cecilia had never been this afraid in her entire life.
She never imagined she would fall this hard over something like this. If the person who found out about her drug use hadn’t been Jayson, she might have gotten away with it.
But right before leaving Croinia for her art exhibition, Jayson had gotten under her skin. That night, she indulged herself and got caught red–handed.
Samson glanced down at her hand clutching his sleeve. The fabric was wrinkled under her grip. He had always been a clean freak, unable to stand things like that. Cecilia knew it, but she never cared. She only ever cared about her own feelings.
“Do you think you’d still be here right now if there was a way out?”
In the end, he said with a sigh, “I told you long ago, you and Jayson were never a match. Your dominance doesn’t work on people like him.”
A hard, metallic glint replaced the light in Cecilia’s eyes, and she smirked. “If I want him, I’ll have him. I don’t care whether we’re a match.”
Then she fixed her gaze on Samson. “Didn’t you say you had feelings for me? You’ve done everything for me, even tried to seduce Ariel for me. I’m not going to that hellhole. You’ll talk to Dad for me, won’t you?”
Samson’s eyes darkened at those words.

Cecilia froze, staring at him in disbelief. “You’re giving up on me too? Don’t tell me you’ve actually fallen for Ariel! Samson, I won’t allow that!”
Samson stiffened at the mention of Ariel’s name. His jaw tightened, and he turned sharply to leave.
As Cecilia stared at his back, her chest burned with rage. “Samson Pryce! Don’t delude yourself! You know exactly what you did. Do I need to remind you how Ariel lost her baby? I’ve already carried half the blame for you!”
His steps faltered.
Without looking back, he walked straight out.
Ariel spent the next two days resting at home.
After lunch, she sat in the living room chatting with Kate.
Halfway through their talk, Kate’s phone started ringing. It was Morgan. Kate still had the number saved and hadn’t blocked it.
